Timeline for endorsing RN license to CA

U.S.A. California

Published

I am interested to hear anyones experience in endorsing their license into CA. I used the online endorsement as well as the livescan fingerprinting. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Thank you ! I had no idea how to do this either. My timeline:

April - mailed application

May - waited

June - check cashed

July - fingerprints one and two

Aug - called - was told a few weeks ago everything is peachy, just waiting for my FBI name check as my fingerprints were yet again unreadable

Sept - just got a letter stating I have missing educational requirements like oral communication and micro

Guess I will be shelling out yet more money. While I was waiting for the CA license I was able to apply for and receive my Oregon, Washington and Texas licenses. I'm heading off to Washington for a travel assignment now. I'm glad I don't have to depend on CA for my income!

7 months and three sets of transcripts later it is finally over. I got my permanent license today!

Yay, and congrats, but 7 months?! Holy crap!

My fiance' is in SoCal, and I'm stuck in Nebraska. I hope mine does not take 7 months!

Last week I received a letter telling me to expect a processing delay due to my stupid misdemeanor record from 30 years ago.

Another member said he received the same letter but had his license a week later, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I guess we will see.

Yay! My temp license was issued today! So excited to finally have SOME progress. Perfexion answered my question about how long a temp license is good for, but does anyone know at this time about how long it takes to get your permanent license once they've issued your temporary?

After some confusion with my transcript (I received a letter stating I needed certain courses, which I knew I took, so I called the BON to have the lady say I didn't graduate college?! And my psychology course wouldn't be accepted...I kind of gave up hope I'd ever have a permanent), I re-sent my transcript hoping for the best, and finally received my permanent license! So my timeline was pretty much exactly 4 months.

Hey All,

I mailed my application Oct 16 or 17th. They received it Oct 21st. And I just checked my mail today and my license was there (Dec 6th). Now my spouse is military and the website said it has expedited processing for military. However, I called last week and they told me my application wasn't processed yet. So maybe they are trying to speed things up for the holiday, who knows. But keep checking and stay positive

Hi all,

as of today I am licensed in California!!

Here is my timeline.

California board received it on Sept 27th. My app went up on Breeze Oct. 10th. A letter from the board regarding my misdemeanor on Nov. 14th. Permanent license today ( Dec. 30th.). I never did get a temporary license which I did pay for.

Good luck to everyone and thanks.

Just wanted to update and say I'm officially licensed in Cali as of 1/16. For me, aside from the wait...it was actually a painless, hassle-free process.

Here's my timeline:

Live Scan while I was visiting California on 10/30/14

Application sent on 11/3/14

School transcripts sent between 11/6 and Thanksgiving (I included transcripts from all the places I took prereqs since my University didn't list the prereqs on my BSN).

Check cashed 11/21/14

Pending review status on BreEZe - 12/10/14

I did call once in late December (the 800 number that was posted earlier in this thread) at about 0800 in the morning and got a pleasant receptionist without a long hold time. She told me my app was still a couple weeks away from being reviewed.

Checked the BreEZe website again today and license was issued on 1/16! All in all, about a 2.5 months process. I honestly was expecting it to be much longer. Good luck to those still waiting!

Can someone send me the link you are using to check your status? I must be using the wrong one because it doesn't say pending or anything. I called and they have my info but I would like to check my status.

Hello,

I am completely bummed out! I just sent my application to the CA BON today only to find out about an oral communication class requirement! Is this really true? School has already started and so I will have to wait to register for a speech class in the summer. There has to be a way around this class. In nursing school, almost all of my classes required a presentation. That should count, right?! Lol. I am going to be stuck in Texas for another year if I have to take this class. Did anyone get a license without having taken this communication requirement. It wasn't a requirement for my school.

I'm still waiting on my permanent license. Apparently they are still checking my transcripts. I'm in California right now working with a temporary license but it expires in April so I can't extend my travel contract unless it comes through. Bummer. I kinda like it here.

Hi, I am newly licensed as of 1/13/15. Here is my timeline:

-10/6/14 flew to California for livescan and mailed app

-10/20/14 check cashed, sent Nursys verification and requested transcripts

-I forget when I checked breeze but pending status said app opened 10/15/14

-During this time "missing education history", and then the name of my ADN program showed up next to "pending", then my ADN program name disappeared and it just said "pending"

-12/16/14 called BON number (1-800-838-6828), was told no one had looked at my stuff but that they should have mid-October apps done by end of December

-12/21/14 resent Nursys verification ($30 more) to make sure it didn't expire

-12/30/14 called BON and was told they were waiting on fingerprints results, fingerprints noted as received 12/1/14 but take 2-8 weeks to process

-1/12/14 called BON and was directed to ----------------------(sp?) who handles fingerprint results, left a VM

-1/13/14 breeze updated with my RN license #

99 days from the date I mailed the application. I stupidly did not pay for a temp. license. Hope my timeline helps someone the way previous posters helped me!

Note about calling BON: no one could confirm that they had received everything needed. I had to ask so many times and never got a straight answer. I was finally told they send a letter if anything is missing, no letter means you are probably okay.

You can register for an account and then search for your application status once your account is made.

I sent my application, fingerprints, transcripts, nursys verification all in the beginning of January for a temporary and permanent license. They cashed the check 1/16 but I still haven't been able to see anything about my status on breeze. Is it supposed to be on the home screen or is there somewhere else to find it? I tried searching my name and didnt find anything. Does it just take a while for it to show up on breeze? I'm hoping to have my temp license in March.
