U.S.A. California

Published

I am interested to hear anyones experience in endorsing their license into CA. I used the online endorsement as well as the livescan fingerprinting. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Here is my time line

- Sent off application including fingerprint cards 12/16/14

- Check cashed 12/24/14

- RN license number on Breeze 2/25/15

Very excited! Expected the wait to be much longer

Endorsing from WI to CA

Current timeline:

Submitted applications, fees, livescan, online nursys verification, transcripts on 1/11/15

Application opened on Breeze on 1/26/15 states

Deficiencies: Missing education history;

but in the Note section: it states my all the school names of the transcripts I sent to the Board of Nursing in California

3/3/15: Today, still no license information available still and the Deficiencies: Missing education history

as well as in the Note section: with my school names of the transcripts have all disappeared.

It's basically blank now and just says "Status: open"

Not sure where I am at could someone enlighten me Please on where I am with my endorsement. Has anyone had a similar situation where all the information on your pending status disappeared? And if so, how long from the time the deficiencies disappeared did it take to get your License.

I did pay for a temp license. I was

told to start calling the 1800 number after waiting 8 weeks from the day the California Boards opened my application.

Just posting my timeline for those who find it helpful:

11/05/14 - mailed my application along with completed fingerprint card, sent by registered mail.

11/07/14 - USPS showed that package had been received.

11/08/14 - completed online Nursys verification and requested transcript from my school

12/05/14 - check finally cleared bank account. This is the date that the CABoN used as my application start date.

12/09/14 - finally showed up on the Breeze website with "Missing Education History" (now known to be the default response meaning "we haven't done anything but cash your check")

02/13/15 - called the 1800 number multiple times throughout December and January and received the usual "we're processing applications from x-date, there's quite a delay". Spoke with ------------ on this date who said that the evaluators hadn't looked at my application yet, but that my background check had cleared, said I should call back in a week.

02/20/15 - License number showed up on Breeze website.

Good luck :)

Just curious-what address do you use to send transcripts? I read somewhere that you can't send registered letter to po box-correct me if I am wrong.

We both submitted our application around the same time. I called today and my app is being reviewed for traffic misdemeanors from 17 years ago. Was told that would be an additional 2-4 weeks. Looks like most are getting there licenses between 60-90 days. It's coming, just hang tight.

Address for transcripts would be that PO Box #

Any word on your cali license? temp license? I am in about the same timeline as you. My Breeze status also just says "open." I have called the board twice now. The first time, a really helpful lady who said to call a few days just before the 8 wk mark and I should get a temporary. When I called again, a not so nice lady who said I still had a lot more waiting to do. I think I will just call again in a week and hope that a nicer person responds with more helpful information.

I wish I could I tell you why but I have no idea! Actually it could be from all the praying :)

Aahh FINALLY got my CA RN license!!

Check Cashed: 1/15/15

License #: 3/11/15

my 8 weeks would be up 3/12/15 so they were barely under that!

i thought about calling at 6 weeks but was too afraid they'd get mad so I waited and was gonna call Monday if I still didn't have it.

There is hope guys! They seem to be catching up and being quicker!

Here's some interesting articles about why all the applications are taking so long

Shocking Results From California Nursing License Audit • BluePipes Blog

I snail mailed everything at the end of February along with paper fingerprinting...hoping to have everything done before May, since I didn't renew my lease for my apartment under the assumption I'd easily be able to start travel nursing in California. Hopefully I won't end up a homeless before I get my license :(

Hi again. I just received my temporary license today and I was quite shocked to get it. I had even applied to TX and gotten a license there because I was told that I wouldn't have my CA license anytime soon. So I mailed everything 1/7/15 and paid the $199.00 for the temp and permanent. 1/15/15 they cashed my check. I called mid Feb and was told to call back in a few weeks when it had gotten closer to 6 weeks since my check was cashed, that they were still working on Nov apps. So I called a few weeks later and they couldn't tell me if they had all my transcripts or anything yet and was told they were still working on Dec apps. A recruiter gave me the numbers of some supervisors so I started calling them since we were now at 7 and 8 weeks since I applied for my temp (their website says it will be issued in 6-8 weeks). The supervisor I spoke to seemed very annoyed with me for calling and said they hadn't even sent my fingerprints to the FBI yet and that would take 2 to 4 weeks to receive back from them. Still couldn't tell me if they had everything I needed because no one started to look at my file yet. He did suggested that he could maybe rush things if I flew out to CA and did the live scan and of course pay more money to have that done. I live in FL and that would have cost me close to $1000 which he seemed to think was an acceptable solution. So I gave up and moved my sights to TX (btw got a temp license in 9 business days from TX). I decided to check back with CA one more time before applying in TX and the lady at the 800 number said it would be at least 4 weeks before anyone even started to look at my application and told me that the temporary license is not there so you can get it sooner, it's there in case you need to take education requirements so you can work while you're taking classes. This is not what is written on their website. I double checked and found no indication of that. I decided to file a report online with the Dept of Consumer Affairs. I think that was Tuesday. Because it's ridiculous to have so many people paying extra money for something they most likely won't get and they don't refund it either. Got an email today from someone at the board of nursing apologizing about this and saying that she has issued me a temporary license. So maybe reporting it to consumer affairs is the way to go. Good luck to everyone else.
