LAC+USC interview new grad RN

U.S.A. California

Hey guys, I have a question. I had an interview with LAC+USC and received a letter that I passed the oral exam. I read in the letter that they are going to contact me if positions open up. I am a new grad RN. Have you been in my situation? How long does it take until they call you? Do we have another interview after the oral interview or this is it? Please share your experience with me..thank you

Has anyone interviewed for peds services at LAC+USC? I know you can't really talk about the interview process but I'm wondering how much peds I should know for this interview this week! My RN school rotation was only 4 weeks so I feel like I have A LOT to learn!

NICU/PEDS are essentially the same. They don't really ask for specific peds knowledge but more about what type of nurse you are. Can you handle the pressure and if you suit well with the team. Don't sweat about your peds expertise, they don't expect you to be.

Just got an offer to start on the peds unit! So excited, and mildly scared! :)

Anyone recently hired for an ICU unit at LACUSC? I start the process next week for fingerprints, backgrounds, physicals, etc. Anyone recently hired know of the possible start date? Thanks!

RN_Mom, how does the application process for a new grad at LAUSC start? I graduate my RN program in May and just want to get a heads up on where to start for their next new grad program :)

You have to take the Civil Service Exam for RN I. Which I think they're not accepting any applications for the exam right now.

@RN_Mom They said that they'll give us a start date when we finish all the pre-employment procedures

@jamesthegreat Were you hired for an ICU position too? What part of the process are you in? I go in next week for fingerprints and paperwork...

I got in the ER. I just received my livescan results and going next week for my physicals

Congrats! How long did it take to clear livescan?

Congratulations to us!

It took 1 week before I received my results then they scheduled me for the physical exam.

I hope I pass my physical exam. ;)

Hi all,

Congrats to those of you who were hired! I'm graduating in May and I would love to work at LA+USC. I'm having a hard time figuring out where to even look to see where the position would be posted!

Any help is highly appreciated!

You have to look first at the LA County Website for RN I openings and apply online. They will contact you for a civil interview and if you pass, your name will go on the RN I list. From there, you can contact the various LA County hospitals to see if there are positions open. Sometimes, as in my case, the hospital may contact you to set up an interview but don't rely on them. If you really want to work for a particular hospital, contact them once your name is on the RN I list...

At this time, I don't think LA County has an RN I position open, but check back frequently.

Hope this helps!

Thanks so much for the info! I've been checking daily for new grad positions but I didn't realize that I could do RN I!

I'll keep looking everyday!!
