  1. Just got an offer to start on the peds unit! So excited, and mildly scared! :)
  2. anybody else get an offer today??!
  3. @LnMaR: haha i def wouldn't say that in an interview! Have you started with your orientation yet? How long has this journey been for you (I hear it takes a while)?
  4. Has anyone interviewed for peds services at LAC+USC? I know you can't really talk about the interview process but I'm wondering how much peds I should know for this interview this week! My RN school rotation was only 4 weeks so I feel like I have A LOT to learn!
  5. Congrats! I hope my luck turns soon its time to start working I've been licensed for over 6 months!
  6. @ kit how was your interview?
  7. I had a panel interview last week. They told me they wouldn't be making call backs until the first week of march for a program start the last week of march. I was also told that they were interviewing for all 4 hospitals and all specialties but you are not guaranteed where you will be if chosen even though they do ask your preference. I don't know about you all but I will take anything I can get!!!! I just want to start my career already! goodluck everyone.
  8. @magnolia have you or anyone else who applied for San Pedro heard of anything yet? I see mostly everyone on here applied to the Torrance posting.
  9. @ kit -They did ask me what my dream job situation was and I answered with the specialty I desire and day shift but I backed it up by saying I am more than happy to work on any unit as everything is a learning experience and id value the opportunity. Good luck next week! Fingers crossed for both of us!let me know how your interview goes!
  10. @kit86- I spent days prepping for scenarios and interview questions but nothing I prepped for was asked! I felt like it was a good interview and it flowed more like a conversation rather than being drilled. I can't think of particular questions but def know how to answer "so tell me about yourself" .The interviewers were very personable. They won't be making decisions until march so its a long stressful waiting period! When's your interview?
  11. I have my first hospital interview tomorrow and I am so nervous! The only other interview I have had was for a laser spa so this will be way different. I got my license 6 months ago this job hunt is so hard! I found this online and think it's helpful http://nursing.jhu.edu/life-at-hopkins/center/documents/interview_guide.pdf I would definitely bring a copy of your cover, resume and certifications. Also letters of rec if you have them. Goodluck!
  12. i also was wondering if anyone had applied for the new grad program with avanti hospitals: memorial hospital of gardena, coast plaza, east l.a doctors hospital or huntington park. There is no thread on allnurses so I have'nt been able to find out about their interview process my interview is Thursday!
  13. I read on the New grad RN jobs California Facebook page that people were getting phone interviews for Torrance. Havent heard anything for San Pedro my app says under consideration too.
  14. Does anyone know if they give ADN's (also with a b.s in a health subject) a chance or do they select only BSNs? thanks!
  15. Applied yesterday for the san pedro new grad program. Does anyone know if they choose ADNs at all? (I do have a B.S in Health as as well)
