Hey guys, I have a question. I had an interview with LAC+USC and received a letter that I passed the oral exam. I read in the letter that they are going to contact me if positions open up. I am a new grad RN. Have you been in my situation? How long does it take until they call you? Do we have another interview after the oral interview or this is it? Please share your experience with me..thank you
Thanks so much for the info! I've been checking daily for new grad positions but I didn't realize that I could do RN I!I'll keep looking everyday!!
Sorry one more question, the RN I jobs say you have to have your license so I wouldn't be able to apply for those would I? I thought I could only apply for the one's that say New Grad? This is all so confusing
Oct 19 2012 - applied to the RN I Position
Mar 17 2013 - got my civil exam letter
Apr 10 2013 - had my interview (interview went terribly awful thought i failed it)
Apr 22 2013- Got the letter that i PASSED the civil exam (totally shocked )
Now I need to start calling all the county hospitals to see if they is open positions (hopefully med surg or ER)
Has anyone tried to get into a telemetry floor? Ive been reading all the threads and it seems it just been med surg, ER, PEDS, NICU, & ICU.
Oh well will be posting updates about this LONG JOURNEY ahead of me hehe
Just got a call from a nurse recuriter from LAC+USC for a pysch & m/s positions on May 10th. A little bit nervous cause the recuriter is asking for performance evaluations with evidence of attendance written on for ALL my school clinicals. There were some clinicals that i did show up late and one clinical that i had a family emergency and did not show up that day but when it was time to go back to clinicals, i forgot to call my instructor early that i would be late and i got yelled and written up for that particular incident.
Does the performance evaluations with my history of attendance going to hurt me in any way doing my interview process and what kind of questions would they mostly ask in a psych & m/s interview so i can kinda prepare for?
I had my interview at LAC USC for an RN1 on their med/surg floor on April 18th. Does anyone know how long it generally takes for them to extend a job offer? It's been almost 3 weeks and I'm so anxious!
Also, they requested my most recent clinical performance evaluation too. I brought in my last two and had to ask the unit manager during my interview if she wanted them, otherwise they would not have asked for them.

Depending on what unit you applied for. There are multiple M/S floors and unit managers vary with how they submit new hires.

Some floors use a standardized questionnaire. Questions are never hard, it's a gauge of how you are as a nurse and how will you interact with the team.
