Maybe we should let the OP make his own decision and just point him in the right direction to get nonjudgmental information?

I agree with those above who say to talk to your doctor about finding a urologist. Get two or three names and interview them carefully.

Years ago I worked on a Urology/Medical/Surgical floor that also included some of the plastic surgery. While I was there I took care of two adult males who had circumcisions. One was in his 20's, and the other in his 70's. They both did well, without any problems of any kind.

i am a 22 yr old male who is thinking about getting a circumcision. i am currently uncircumcised and unhappy with its appearance. i would just like to get some really important information about procedures and post operation effects. i would greatly appreciate any kind of information that anyone can provide me. i am serious about this procedure but i would like to know more about adult circumcision before any action is taken. thank you.

My fiance was circumcised at 21. They put him under general anestesia, the procedure took about 30 minutes total. Everything went well. He healed fine. I heard from a friend who recently had it done at the age of 28, now they can use local anestesia, so you can be awake. I hope this info helps you. Good luck with your decision.

hey original poster...you might want to check some Israeli sites.....when Jews from other countries move to Israel they have often come from countries where circumcision was not practiced. Israel probably circumsizes more adult men than any country on earth.

My friend's husband had this type of surgery when he was well into his 20's. He recovered just fine. She did say that he did experience a great deal of pain afterward. But that is expected after a major surgery like that. I suggest that you talk with your urologist. Good luck!!

As a hospital corpsman I observed the battalion surgeon circumcising a man in his twenties. The patient had received a sedative and was awake. A penile block was then administered. The procedure probably took about 30 to 40 minutes. Good luck with your decision.

A long time ago I assisted with a couple of male adult circs , now my question is why are you doing this ? It was a office procedure meaning that you only got a LOCAL ,im not sure this is the way it is done everywhere or even now. From what I remember it was not done like a baby's circ. I cant remember all the specific details but I do remember thinking OH MY GOD!!! The patient seemed to tolerate the procedure ok but required more pain med during the procedure. I remember it being about 45 min long . Gosh unless you had some die hard reason for this (medical) I think I would leave my winkie alone!!!!! :uhoh3: :uhoh3: :uhoh3:
