Ok so I would like to adress a very disturbing issues...I dont know if you guys heard about the death of an actress Britanny Murphy at a young age of 32 that happend today. According to sources she died of cardiac arrest...now I have heard from numerous sources that young people are less likely to survive heart attacks than older adults..but I cant figure out why?? What is wrong with the mechanics of young peoples heart that leads to lethal MI? Any thoughts?? So sad to hear such terrible news right before Christmas-the time of joy:o:crying2::crying2::sniff:

Oh my there's a lot of speculation AKA gossip. I personally wouldn't believe too much that comes from the media.

Didnt you read http://news:they said she went into cardiac arrest and her heart stopped.

As Gila has pointed out, you can't use use the terms "cardiac arrest" and "heart attack" interchangeably. They're not the same thing.

Cardiac arrest is an electrical problem. The pump shuts down. As a result, the brain doesn't get any oxygen, and body functions can turn off. Breathing stops. Blood stops circulating.

Myocardial infarction is what is commonly referred to as a heart attack. Some kind of blockage -- a clot, a plaque -- prevents oxygen from reaching parts of the heart muscle. The muscle is damaged as a result.

Can MI lead to cardiac arrest? Yes. Can cardiac arrest occur independently of MI? Yes. Did Brittany Murphy have a heart attack? According to news reports, the autopsy was inconclusive. Tests are still pending.

You are not aware that some people have worse metabolism than others and must carefully watch what they eat?.Actually she was taking many different meds;antidepressants, pain killers, thyroid meds to speed up her metabolism..

I just read the list of Rx's they linked to her, unless it was a partial list, no medication for Thyroid was mentioned???

While it is generally accepted as fact that some people do have a genetic predisposition to weight gain, I highly doubt this is the case with Brittany. If you observe her body type, she is a small woman with a small frame. As far as her medication regimen, this is the list of medications found on her nightstand:

- Topamax (anti-seizure medications also to prevent migraines) - Methylprednisolone (anti-inflammatory)

- Fluoxetine (depression medication)

- Klonopin (anxiety medication)

- Carbamazepine (treats Diabetic symptoms and is also a bipolar medication)

- Ativan (anxiety medication)

- Vicoprofen (pain reliever)

- Propranolol (hypertension, used to prevent heart attacks)

- Biaxin (antibiotic)

- Hydrocodone (pain medication)

- Vitamins.

Not a single one of these is for the purpose of "speeding up the metabolism".
