Young adults and MI

Ok so I would like to adress a very disturbing issues...I dont know if you guys heard about the death of an actress Britanny Murphy at a young age of 32 that happend today. According to sources she died of cardiac arrest...now I have heard from numerous sources that young people are less likely to survive heart attacks than older adults..but I cant figure out why?? What is wrong with the mechanics of young peoples heart that leads to lethal MI? Any thoughts?? So sad to hear such terrible news right before Christmas-the time of joy:o:crying2::crying2::sniff:

" She was always lil chubby "

Oh my goodness. No wonder young girls get the wrong impression. I'd bet not one person can find a picture of Brittany Murphy @ any size other than a 4 or 6.

I don't think she was ever "chubby" but you have to admit that she looked MUCH different in Clueless than any of her other movies. Her face was much rounder in Clueless and she actually had curves then too-looked healthy.

I recall seeing her in a movie after Clueless and not knowing they were the same person until the credits.

im 21, and i once had a patient that was 21 with an MI.....

that scared me!!!!

21 YEARS OLD WITH AN MI.

he was not obese, or heavyset...he was normal weight for his age and fairly active. Ran track...

Crazy stuff out there!!

Well,it is not UNCOMMON for young athletes to experience problems with heart..I remember reading while ago about a gold medal olimpic winner in her mid-twenties (26) dying of sudden cardiac arrest...everyone was quite in shock however like I said I have heard about cases like that one before.

Also going back to the original topic did any of you guys read an updates about Ms.Murphy? Now they saying she had flu symptoms...do you guys think she might have had a heart complications related to her flu..I also have heard that one can from flu complications? Or maybe she was going through a cocaine withdrawal--dont addicts have flu like symptoms when they go through withdrawal--I remeber reading about it in my nursing books,or maybe cold like symptoms are the effects of the heroine withdrawal???

Well it makes a perfect sense since she probably had a tendency to be chubby and that is probably the reason why she started dieting in the first place or maybe she hit that *difficult" age of 16 at which a lot of girls think they are a lil chubby..looks like she might have had suffer from anorexia for long time and started dieting at a young age. I think in "Girl Interrupted" she was arleady on the skinny side..

A tendency to be chubby?

I would venture to guess the heart attack was caused by an OD or being so thin.

Again I ask, how do you know she had a "heart attack?"

So the director of Clueless was saying she sort of feels that the Movie Clueless is what gave her such a bad body image. IMO she wasn't even "chubby" in that movie, she looked good and healthy and full. Not full figure, but as in, not just bones.

Apparently she got a lot of flack after that movie for being "chubby" or "fat" because she wasn't hollywood's standard of thin, allegedly she started having body issues after that which is why in all her movies since she has been extremely thin, it was also said that after she tried to mainly keep herself blond, got her teeth capped etc. etc. because all of a sudden she had all these insecurities that she wasn't hollywood beautiful.

Very sad and it appears her demons were a long time coming. Family and friends are starting to come out saying they saw this coming but they couldn't get through to her.

Even if this wasn't the cause of her death, hopefully girls struggling with the same can learn from this, if anything else.

You are not aware that some people have worse metabolism than others and must carefully watch what they eat?.Actually she was taking many different meds;antidepressants, pain killers, thyroid meds to speed up her metabolism..

Again I ask, how do you know she had a "heart attack?"

Didnt you read http://news:they said she went into cardiac arrest and her heart stopped.

Cardiac arrest is not the same thing as a heart attack.

I was unaware that painkillers and antidepressants had anything to do with speeding metabolism. Thyroid medications, maybe. However, since we are waiting on toxicology, we really have no idea.

Once again, heart attack does not equal cardiac arrest. We are talking about two very different concepts. It is absolutely false to say somebody died if a heart attack when we have no idea what killed the person in question.
