You see a curved tube from a broken shampoo pump on the floor and your first thought is "Why is that trach tube on the floor??"

I focus on cashiers' veins in the line at Walmart/ACME etc.
I have to convert to metrics for most measurements.
And when I open a bottle of ketchup or jar of applesauce, I automatically upturn the cap open-end up when I lay it down.
(David, the Sistine Chapel, and the Pieta. Magnificent!)
When you're in a store and you see the yellow 'WET FLOOR' signs are placed wrong as the janitor is still mopping. Or 'FIRE EXIT' sign is burned out.
When I'm in an elevator, I'll move a little bit farther over after I've determined I don't like the way another rider has coughed/is breathing.
When you're watching a concert on TV and you can't stop staring at the great veins in the guitarist's arms.
My hubs and kids have beautiful veins. Their pediatrician knows I'm a nurse and says to me, while holding Girl Child's arm out, "don't these just make you want to start an IV?" [emoji23] Maybe not my kids because their veins need to get a bit wider first, but my husband??? You could stick a 14F catheter in those suckers, let alone IV caths.

Oh no...I've done this, too. I thought I was just being impatient. It appears I'm just getting the technique ingrained in my brain.
