And thank you for making it so the degree goes before the "RN" - just a personal pet peeve of mine.
Agree, but since RN is apart of my username already, I have to settle for the "RN, BSN".

Edit...problem solved.

Specializes in HH, Peds, Rehab, Clinical.
What about those few RNs who earned a diploma? I suppose "Dip" doesn't sound very good, maybe "Dplma" or "Dpl"?

RN should cover it! I for one could give a hang about WHICH RN degree a person has---everyone passes the same NCLEX

Specializes in Med nurse in med-surg., float, HH, and PDN.

It's just an option to have your creds listed.

Not to burst anybody's bubble, but I personally seldom pay attention to all the letters. Alphabet Soup. Not trying to take anybody's accomplishments lightly, though, and I do appreciate all the hard work y'all have put in to your work and careers. You SHOULD be proud, and flaunt 'em if you've got 'em!

Me, I really prefer being a grunt, PFC so-to-speak. I used to tell my employers (who I have worked for, for 34 years), "Just give me my assignment, give me my paycheck, and leave me alone, and I will be the BEST employee you have." Being known as reliable, dependable, and conscientious is just fine by my lights.

How about specialty certs in the future? I like this feature, but like my name badge IRL, I am prouder of the CCRN I earned than the BSN. :)

Specializes in Cardiac, ER, Pediatrics, Corrections.

Love this idea calivianya! I'd love to add Correctional RN :)

Also, I do not believe adding credentials was meant to belittle anyone. I am proud to have earned my BSN, but I do not feel I am better than anyone else. Just my 2 cents.

Specializes in Nephrology, Cardiology, ER, ICU.

Great comments everyone. Just some things:

1. At this point we are not adding credentials as we have finite ability to add more.

2. Diploma was not an option as it is not a degree and because there is no well known abbreviation (agree dip. is poorly worded)

3. Credentials are not meant to belittle anyone. It is purely optional.

Hope this answers some of the comments.

Cool! However.. I do not see "school of hard knocks " listed.

lol - now that wouldn't leave room for anything else.. I bet many folks would add that one....

That credential.. got me many interviews;) recruiters appreciated the candor and the implications. Just an FYI for my fellow nurses that are still searching :)

How do you put in certifications not listed, such as CGRN? Thansk

Klone:

I couldn't agree more with you. It bothers me too when people put RN 1st, then the degree.

I was always taught to place degrees 1st, then what they can take from you.
