York University 2nd Entry Nursing 2014

Hi everyone!

Interested to know who else will be applying for the 2nd entry program at York U for Fall 2014!

I applied a few days ago...so excited!

Internal applicant request was supposed to open January 1st but wasn't - I was only able to request my program change yesterday. I know that external applicants were to begin applying sometime starting October because their application is a whole other process. Now just keeping my fingers crossed and trying to keep my marks up even more!

I am not an internal applicant though...I have BSc from UofT...need to take microbiology as well....I was hoping to be able to take this course at York as a visiting student this winter...Admissions is reviewing my visiting student application (I applied 2 days ago for it) and hopefully I'll know by Monday...I'm sure the classes are full though for this term :( Any suggestions?

I just completed the course on December 22nd and it was a packed class. I'm not sure if it's full or not for the winter term. Hope you get in!

Hey Karina,Just have a quick question for you. I have heard some mixed reviews about the microbio class. How did you find the final? Best way to study? Textbook not needed at all? Thanks soo much!

The final was cumulative so it was everything that we learned that semester and I felt that it was fair enough considering he gave us a list of things to review and posted all of the power points online.

As for studying I always studied from my own notes because I like to take really detailed ones in class and they helped me a lot because he does talk about things that are not in the power points and he does test us on it.

As for the textbook, I didn't need one so I never bought one. I don't know whether or not he will use it for this term I would wait to see what he says.

Who do you guys have for microbiol? I won't mention the name of the professor I had, but it was one of the worst professors I had in my undergrad.

So its been a while. Im in the Biol 2905 wednesday class. Hope everyone had a great winter break and fall semester grades are in your favor. Personally i ended up with an A+ in anatomy and am now sitting on a 8.0 on my last 30 GPA. I hope I can keep it up. I wouldn't mind meeting with you guys to hang out or study for this microbiology course. On a side note, my friend took this course during the fall semester and basically the textbook wasn't available until really late into the course, so the prof decided not to use it. This may not be the same case for the winter class.
