  1. So far I've only emailed them to confirm my spot in the program. The acceptance letter did not speak of any enrolment appointment but I'm sure that we will be getting more information when we receive our package in the mail. I think that internal applicants may have a different process to begin with so it might all be a little different. If you go on the YorkU Nursing page you can actually see what courses you need to take and the "York University Second Entry Nursing Class of 2016" on Facebook has copy of the timetable for first two semesters that someone posted that you can take a look at! From what I believe we will all have very similar schedules.
  2. Wow congratulations to everyone! I guess they sent out quite a few acceptances today. Looking forward to meeting everyone in September!
  3. Congrats xibb!! We finally made it, hope to see you in some of my classes in September! I believe they just started sending out acceptance letters today because I called them on Tuesday (yesterday) and they told me that they haven't started yet
  4. I am now officially a nursing student!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just received my acceptance email 20 minutes ago confirming that my program change has been granted and my acceptance letter has been mailed to my address!! I am happy beyond words and don't even know if I want to cry or jump or laugh. This has definitely been a tough year trying to prove to myself that I'm able to accomplish anything that I set my mind to. Ps. I'm an internal applicant so everyone should start hearing back as early as today to first week of June! Good luck everyone and I hope to see you all in September!!
  5. I'm seriously so impatient I almost want to call them again to see if they've sent any out. It's almost painful, this wait. Our marks have been out for some time now I just wish we didn't have to wait so long
  6. Everything has been fairly quiet. I think everyone is just holding their breath and waiting for a decision to be made. We're officially into the third week of May which is when they said they would begin to send out acceptances to the internal applicants. Now the worry really sets in!
  7. Yes that's a great idea because we see a lot if external applicant stories but I havent found much about internal applicant experiences
  8. You know what, now that you put it that way I think you're right. If we have high averages then there is no reason that we should be rejected considering some people have lower averages than us in the external applicant pool. I completed all my prerequisites this winter term and keep checking to make sure that I have them all but during my advising appointment with the nursing program assistant I made sure to go over everything to make sure I wasn't missing and everything was fine so fingers crossed! We should start hearing back next week hopefully!
  9. That's awesome I really hope we have a chance at this! It's just scary because only about 20 internal applicants get accepted so it makes you think how many people there are just like us
  10. I called the department today and was told that they are looking at internal applicants now and that acceptances will start as early as next week and that we could wait for as late as last week of May. So since all we could do is wait at this point why dont we (internal applicants) compare our averages! Now that I've received all my marks I'm sitting at 7.8 on a 9 point scale in my last 30 credits so about a B+ close to A. My cumulative GPA is at 7.37 on a 9 point scale so that's also a B+.
  11. Thank you very much for this post - it is actually very useful! I wondered before whether or not students had to complete this program in the 2 years that this program runs or if they had more time! It's great that it offers us so much time especially considering that you never know what life may bring and it's calming to know that students can take a leave of absence for things such as illnesses, pregnancy, etc. It would really be unfortunate to be accepted and then have to drop and go through this horrid process of waiting once again.
  12. Yep! I've also been told that they will be looking at both equally (cGPA and GPA in last 30 credits)!
  13. No, they do not. However they only hold about 20-30 seats for internal applicants (applicants that are currently studying at York and have not completed a degree from what I remember). There are about 100 or so seats for external applicants because they are coming in from all walks of life and places/universities. I have asked this same question when I met with the school of nursing program assistant and she ensured me that internal applicants are considered just the same as external just that the application process is a tiny bit different (you just apply to switch programs).
  14. I'm also an internal applicant waiting for an acceptance. It's so frustrating having to wait especially now that all the marks are in and your application is just being reviewed. I was told by the department that they would start sending out acceptances 2-3 weeks of May so just keeping my fingers crossed!
  15. Hi Nikola!! I had a few questions, trying to remember what they were but one that I'm curious about is how was your first semester? I heard that it is by far the toughest one with 5 courses (omg chemistry eek!). How did you find the courses. A lot of presentations, essays?
