Yale University Graduate Entry Pre-Specialty in Nursing (GEPN) 2025

Published

Hello,

I don't think there is a thread for Yale GEPN applicants for Fall 2025 start, so here it is! Let's share knowledge and cheer each other on! Also, if there is an existing thread, please let me know.

I want to submit my application soon, but I keep re-reading and editing my essays... Anyone else doing the same thing? I have been out of school for almost 10 years, and I'm getting flashbacks to high school/undergrad days!

Additionally, has anyone sent a transcript via Parchment? My transcript should have been received by Oct 21, but on NursingCAS, it says it hasn't received.

Thanks, and I look forward to communicating with you all!

Hi Everyone!

I was wondering when you guys asked for your letters of recs, how specific were you to your recommendations for example did you say specifically this is for Yales GEPN FNP (or whichever) program or just nursing program? I had my letter writers write a recommendation for NURSING school, but now I'm worried I should've been more specific about it being an FNP specialty. It was just hard because not all the schools I applied to have that specialty and it would've been difficult to ask for 2 letters.

I think mine were all general!

Mines didn't even mention nursing school.  My recommenders let me read my letters and they just spoke about my character.

Mine were specific; I want to specifically be a nurse-midwife, so I only applied to nurse-midwife programs.

Hi 123!

Congrats on submitting your application! I'm glad we are all in similar boats regarding the constant editing... hahaha

My transcript came in and application was finally verified on Monday, 11/4 ('complete' around 10/29-30).

Regarding Community Scholars scholarship program, if our application was in and "complete" (not verified) by 11/1, we should still be eligible, right? I've reached out to the Yale team, but haven't heard back.

Also - is everyone else's application status page blank?

Thank you!

Yeonsu

Hi Yeonsu,

Yes! My application status page is blank right now. Hopefully we will all hear good news soon 🙂

My letters were also pretty specific to midwifery.

I'm hoping we all here as soon as possible! The closer it gets to Christmas the more I'm obsessively checking my email just in case... *crying emoji*

Just received decision - rejected. Hopefully I get accepted to the other schools I applied to. Best of luck to all of you!

I just received my decision as well, and I am accepted! I don't know if this will logistically work out with my family, but I am happy regardless.

Yes! Email for application status portal.

Hi all,

Good luck to everyone on their journey whether it is with Yale or not. I just wanted to know if the decisions of the Community Scholars Program would be included with the acceptance of the program itself?

Hi everyone! I applied to pediatric primary care, but I was rejected, I guess it's time for my plan B! 🥲 But I'm wondering, what speciality did everyone else apply too? Congratulations to everyone who got in!

What specialty did you apply to?
