Hi everyone! Wanted to start this conversation for those who are getting ready to apply once the application opens on June 1st 2021.

I am hoping we can all share information, ask questions, and support each other throughout the exciting journey ahead!

Hi guys! I'm not a GEPN but got accepted into the peds primary care MSN program! I'm from CA and will be flying out to CT in March to check out the school and everything else ?

Has anyone received anything yet? I wonder if they will send you a letter at all if you aren't receiving any financial aid.

I never received anything. That sucks if we’re not getting any aid!

I haven't received anything. I think historically, everyone gets a letter about cost regardless of whether they get aid. I think they just haven't released anything yet tbh

Agreed. Knowing what scholarship I get can make or break my decision

I wonder if they will send it later today or wait will Monday. This is so stressful!

When they delayed interview decisions, it happened a little later in the day but was uploaded quietly into our portals. It's a Friday, so I'm not optimistic. I was really hoping to the have this weekend to process this ?

This is stressful. I needed the weekend to think about where to seriously go.  They gave us a much shorter period to decide too.  Feb 22 compared to March for other school!

Anyone leaning towards YALE as first choice? or another school? I'd love to chat about the pros and cons of all of them.

Right now I’m leaning towards Yale but that also depends what scholarship I get. The other programs I’ve interviewed for are ABSN-DNP and they cost about the same tuition as Yale. 
 

I’m not entirely sure if I want to go straight to get my DNP. I sure know it would be helpful in the future. I don’t know if at some point they would require nurse practitioners to have their DNP or PhD?

I am deciding between Yale and U Penn for CNM/WHNP. Definitely leaning towards U Penn but also trying to make the decision based on pros and cons. Has anyone had the chance to talk with a current student about how they do clinical placements at Yale? That's my biggest pro for Penn -- they do all the placements for you. Also, just feeling a bit discouraged by the negative comments about the Yale program on this thread a couple of pages back. Unfortunately I have to make my decision before Yale's admitted students day so I was really hoping to talk to a student but when I emailed to ask admissions about it they didn't respond to that part of my email, only told me I wasn't allowed to come tour.
