Hi everyone! Wanted to start this conversation for those who are getting ready to apply once the application opens on June 1st 2021.
I am hoping we can all share information, ask questions, and support each other throughout the exciting journey ahead!

Has anyone had the chance to talk with a current student about how they do clinical placements at Yale? That's my biggest pro for Penn -- they do all the placements for you. Also, just feeling a bit discouraged by the negative comments about the Yale program on this thread a couple of pages back. Unfortunately I have to make my decision before Yale's admitted students day so I was really hoping to talk to a student but when I emailed to ask admissions about it they didn't respond to that part of my email, only told me I wasn't allowed to come tour.
Yale does placements for students as well. However, one thing I noticed in the dual program outline was that dual students are not guaranteed to graduate in may due to clinical placements. I believe that was the curriculum footnotes pre-COVID. They have a hard time getting the placements they need to get them graduated on time. I did ask my interviewer about that as well and she said with COVID, placements for duals have been hard but they are working on getting all of their dual students placed in time. Last year they took on less new dual students in order to make clinical room for the students further along. This is something that has definitely worried me about Yale's program.
Hi everyone! Yes I have had a chance to talk to 3 students in the program last year when I was researching and honestly everyone was really happy with their experience and graduated on time.
I think it’s hard considering peoples opinions, there’s always some good some bad!
Yale is certainly one of my top choices tied with UCSF. The biggest issue is the timing! My interview with UCSF isn’t for another week. Anyone else interviewing? I would love to know what you see as pro and cons between the two, I’m stumped!
Hi everyone!
I am super late to this thread, and also I can't seem to join the facebook group... But I also applied to multiple schools. I am interviewing for UCSF, I interviewed for OHSU and was accepted into UPenn as well as Yale. If other folks are in the same boat I would really love to talk to you! I am debating asking Yale to extend my decision timeline but I'm not sure if they would allow that. What are other folks thinking of doing?
Also I'm from California/Bay Area so for folks thinking about moving out to the east coast I would also love to chat.

Hi! Looks like we are in super similar boats, I’m interviewing at UCSF and OHSU in the coming weeks and really considering moving to Yale! I am also in the Bay, would love to talk more about it!
@NP100 ahhh what is your top choice right now? I really thought I would prefer UCSF the most out of all the programs but I am finding myself pretty interested in the UPenn program! I also like how many concentration options there are at Yale. Biggest con for me is having to move to Philly or New Haven because all my friends and family are in the Bay. I would direct message you but I'm too new to the website to do that!
Hey all. Email me at [email protected]
then we can all swap phone numbers and do a group text about the school choices !

Apparently we are also supposed to fill out the YSN Financial Aid Application and signature page (in addition to the FASFA) in order to get an actual financial aid letter today. I feel a little silly because I had no idea

I am in the same boat. UPenn just seems to have their act together more than Yale, too. Between the email referring to us all as Daniel and the delayed financial aid letter IDK...
