  1. The FA office said I'd get a letter this week! It was delayed because they couldn't access my forms apparently.
  2. Does anyone have any highlights from admitted students day?
  3. I’m unable to attend admitted students day because of work. Would anyone be able to reply to this post with major highlights of the day? It would be so greatly appreciated! Also yes any recommendations for safe areas to live in that would be amazing. I’m coming from the bay area CA
  4. Hi guys! I'm not a GEPN but got accepted into the peds primary care MSN program! I'm from CA and will be flying out to CT in March to check out the school and everything else ?
  5. Congrats everyone who’s gotten interviews so far! Did your online application status change prior to interviewing?
  6. Hey! Called HR and they said we won’t hear back until probably end of month but like don’t hold me to it haha
  7. Hi everyone! I applied for Med/Surg D5, I hope we all get good news!
  8. It depends on each person and what you find comfortable/reasonable. I definitely think working and going to nursing school is doable! Alot of us work part time while attending classes. I work about 8-16 hrs a week and it feels manageable. ?
  9. ER volunteer for 6 months, lab tech for 2 years, and volunteer in west coast VA hospitals, bilingual
  10. Hi! level 3 BSN here and congratulations on getting this far in your nursing journey! As for the concerns of the program, there are some occurrences of disorganization happening (from what I've seen mainly with scheduling and last minute professors) but this is true of all programs to an extent. But all of this has been resolved and never deeply impacts our learning. We went to clinicals with no delays and our professors are seasoned educators who place students first. There are always spots and classes available for the nursing students, so rest assured you'll always have a seat! As mentioned above, SFSU has many weekly volunteering opportunities in the city and surrounding bay area doing many tasks (health screens/clinics, education, fundraising, flu shots, etc) with many patient populations. One thing I do like about our program is the diversity of our student body. We really do get everyone from all backgrounds and all ages so it brings so much to the classroom. SFSU is well-known for an active student body and nurses recognize this and appreciate what we do in clinical, in community, and in patient care. I also appreciate how everyone is vetted through the interviews and everyone in the cohort lifts each other up (nursing school is tough!). There are no more "A-list" personalities that you might encounter in pre-nursing, but everyone you go to class with is truly amazing, friendly, intelligent, and are there for the same reason as you. So you can be rest assured you'll have a whole group of supporters and friends. I hope this helps alleviates your fear about our program. I am happy to answer questions, good luck!
  11. has anyone else had problems with registering because the SoN hasn't changed our majors yet? (If you chose an alternative major)
  12. Orientation was fast! I checked with my pharmacist and he said I don't need another vaccine phew
  13. Just to make sure, I haven't gotten the MMR vaccine since 2001. Do I have to get it again and then wait to get the titer done?
  14. Hi! I asked an sjsu advisor about these before and she said those classes at EVC are good for the corequisites
