Hey all! I am reapplying and wanted to create this for everyone applying. I won't be as involved as I was last year, but good luck to everyone! I know they're having seminars and allowing people to schedule one on one consultations for applications.
I'm not sure if you have seen this, but they do actually have this on the site:
I just finished Stats and Chem (with lab), and am working on A&P 1 (w/lab). Once I finish this course, I will take A&P 2, and Microbiology. I also need a Dev. Psych for another program I am applying to, but I am going to try and test out of it (if I end up going there).
For those who have taken developmental psych/lifespan - did you take it locally or one of the big online places? I'd like to take it but my local cc has intro to psych as prereq, so I'm thinking of taking it at Hopkins online or Univ of New England, but I've never taken an asynchronous online course before, a little nervous at how hard/how much work it is.
@confuseddog I know it varies depending on where you are, specialty, type of place you're at, etc. I've been specifically looking for psych since deciding I wanted to do this and I believe the range starts at 85 to 90, 000 at the very lowest even for new grads.

I took mine during undergrad (I had a quarter life crisis but it was too late to switch to nursing). I've been using portage learning for online classes and have enjoyed that thus far. While I detest online classes with a passion, the material on there was definitely doable. Now anatomy and Physiology are hard, but I knew that would be hard no matter what

Thanks!

I am also using Portage Learning. I work full time and have two young children, so I appreciate being able to learn/complete assignments during odd hours (usually very late at night). Chem was challenging for me and a lot of work, Stats was pretty easy, and A&P is super interesting, but I think they make it intentionally tricky on some of the tests, just to make sure you’re actually doing the work.
Portage is also pretty affordable - the courses are almost exactly the same cost as our local CC.

I’m sold. Thanks so much! If I had all the time and money I wouldn’t mind taking intro to psych but I’ve already done so many prereqs I really don’t feel like slugging through that one just to get to the developmental psych class.

I’m expecting 75-100, depending on location, call expectations, etc.
(That’s for a starting certified nurse midwife)

I’ve taken the standard ones - gen Chem, anatomy and physiology 1+2, and microbio (plus gen bio which was a prereq for micro). The others you often see are nutrition, statistics, intro psych, human growth and development. I’m registered to take a few of these in the Spring because the other program I applied to requires them.
