Hey all! I am reapplying and wanted to create this for everyone applying. I won't be as involved as I was last year, but good luck to everyone! I know they're having seminars and allowing people to schedule one on one consultations for applications.

I just had an interview with Boston College. I kept my prep simple and did the following:
1. Came up with questions relevant to BC. and my specialty.
2. Looked at my interviewer's school bio.
3. Reviewed my application materials.
4. Was ready to answer "why nursing" type questions.
I did as well, Did they actually ask you anything? Mine was brief

I haven't been able to even think about the interview and I am feeling distraught and very behind. How is everyone preparing? Especially those with hectic schedules. I feel so frazzled right now and exhausted, I don't even know where to begin.
I'm right there with you, I legit work every single day of the week AND I'm moving (shortened lease in case of good news ?). I've been torn between being hard on myself/ knowing I need to prepare at least somewhat and giving myself grace. Realizing there is a lot going on in my life right now and I cannot do every single little thing. What I have been doing is trying to dedicate some of my lunch breaks or 30-45 min a day on prep. Even if only 20min, it has made me feel better. I already had researched my interviewer before even knowing it would be them, looking over my essays and cv, looking up sample answers to typical questions and thinking of my own spin on it. They just sent out an email with tips and some questions you should prepare, which is super helpful

I did! I'm so glad they provided what kind of questions they may ask. I was preparing those answers for most of them anyway, but it's nice to know. Yes so essentially 2 weeks after interviews are over, we will know that week of February! Hopefully for those of us applying to multiple programs we will hear back from those too soon after. I know from previous threads people who got wait listed wanted to know about potential spots opening and others were concerned about making a decision but hadn't heard from anyone else yet.
@CPMtoCNM super well spoken! I have experienced imposter syndrome knowing some of the accomplishments other people have had versus mine or having a higher GPA than mine. Thank you for this advice! I've also been focusing on my passion for the field, what I can bring to the table, etc. I'm open to different paths because I understand life can go any sort of way and I balance that with my determination to do this particular field. I've been journaling and repeating positive affirmations to myself as well. Oh, and I reflect on past clients I've had in healthcare and positive feedback they gave to my supervisors about me. Thinking about the relationships I made with them and reflecting on the progress they made centers me back when I'm having a moment.

My interviewer's bio is a little longer but I did notice that looking at other folks bio just when I was researching faculty as a whole. Only thing I can think is maybe try to Google their name along with ysn or yale and see if any research or something pops up.

Mine went over a bit, but neither outcome is good or bad of itself I think. They said the interview would only be ten minutes. Mine was conversational, basically taked about the profession itself and navigating the RN phase.
@GreenMagus87 gotcha! Yeah they were super nice, it was definitely conversational. I just got denied last year and knowing they only accept 8 people for each specialty, I'm a little scared, I'm not even gonna lie haha.

Wow. So in all likelihood they are probably more selective than the ivies for nursing? ?
@GreenMagus87Yeah, I thought it was no way, but someone else who interviewed this year asked again and they confirmed it.

I applied to Vanderbilt, which releases decisions third week of February, and Rush, which is late February. I wonder if they grant extensions for people still waiting to hear places/or hear about financial aid (it would be *great* have to deal with this "problem").
@secondtimer14 lmaooooo exactly. I'll be estatic and honored for any positive news so I'm mainly just focused on that.
