Hey all! I am reapplying and wanted to create this for everyone applying. I won't be as involved as I was last year, but good luck to everyone! I know they're having seminars and allowing people to schedule one on one consultations for applications.
Hello all! I've been asking J other questions and still haven't been able to hear back regarding the numbers of how many interview versus admitted. Has anybody else been able to ask or is willing to? I don't have any answers for the financial aid stuff unfortunately, filling those out has never been my strong suit haha. Does anyone have any resources in particular they've been using to look up scholarships?
Oh I know, she just was responding to mine even though I was not expecting a response until the 4th. I was just wondering if someone else could ask in general as I'm asking her a bunch of other questions haha! Darn! I haven't started looking yet outside of NURSECORPS. Hopefully we all get some more luck with that one considering the cost of the program and from I read from last year's thread, some people got very little to no aid.
I emailed Jana to let her know that I was one of the ones who never got an email about checking the portal and I squeezed in the question about interviews vs accepted.
Also, after doing the financial aid forms I am getting nervous! I have defaulted on a loan due to lack of finances. I've always had a super low EFC but I am wondering if the default will mean I will get little/no aid from Yale. I will probably also be trying for NURSECORPS and keep a lookout for other scholarships in the meantime.

I got a response about my other concerns but she did not even address the stat question so I would guess she probably doesn't have the answer to that/doesn't want to answer that LOL... worth the try.
Also, I asked if we need to include our parent's financial info even if we are independent. Hopefully she can answer that!
I wonder if they are having a typical number of interview slots despite the "high number of applicants," so hopefully our odds are as good now as previous years if we've made it to interview stage? Hopefully?!
At least we'll only have a few weeks of waiting once interviews are over. I just want to know one way or another so that I can focus on planning for the fall!

I feel responsible getting us down this path as I asked about statistics, but FWIW I asked because I know I've seen people mention the stats before, and I was curious as I saw two very different stats referenced in this thread versus last years (thought perhaps Jana gave the stats at a webinar or something).
All that matters to each of us is if *we* get in, and we've all only got about 5 more weeks until the million dollar question is answered. Hang in there all!
And yes, agree, let's focus on nailing that interview. It's our best shot at good news.
@ChemGirl713 thanks for trying LOL! I know she said she wasn't sure a few days ago, so it would make sense if she doesn't. @confuseddog I mean J herself said it's perfectly normal to wonder. I also was curious due to all the extra factors from this year. Definitely trying to focus on being positive and preparing for the interviews is most important, but I don't think that's what folks mean when they say they wanna know. Another program I applied to last year to actually only accepted 10 percent of the people they interviewed when we were told different and everyone was shocked. Not to say that's what's happening, the odds look favorable in comparison to other schools and especially for it being Yale. I just like knowing all the variables haha, part of analyzing and overthinking at times.
Speaking of interviews, for practicing, does anyone have any tips if you don't have any professors or anyone available to do a mock interview with for productive feedback? Should I just practice in a mirror LOL? I want to be able to get a nursing perspective but a lot of the people I know are too swamped with the increase of cases or school.

The program is three years for full time (unless you're doing a dual specialty) so I put May 2024.
