Yale GEPN 2021

Hey all! I am reapplying and wanted to create this for everyone applying. I won't be as involved as I was last year, but good luck to everyone! I know they're having seminars and allowing people to schedule one on one consultations for applications.

Also, I just realized- I never got an email to check my portal. I just checked it from seeing someone else receiving their invite to interview. I wonder if that means they haven't fixed their email issue, because I added YSN, Jana, and allnurses to my VIP email list so none of them would go in spam. I hope that problem gets resolved so in the future we don't miss any other updates... 

I didn't get an email either - I just saw it here. Maybe they didn't send one?

When booking an interview slot, how seriously are you all taking the prompt: Do you have any specific questions for your interviewer?

I obviously plan to ask questions of my interviewer but it feels odd to write them in here. Perhaps this is just for any questions about logistics or format? Any thoughts? Thanks!

I left it blank as well. I’ll have questions for my interviewer though. 
 

I didn’t have problems scheduling but I also didn’t get fan email notifying me of the update. Thank you AllNurses!

I got an email this morning at 7:55 AM which prompted me to check my portal!

@MC__3 They emailed that they refreshed the system, so it worked for me. You should try again if you haven't scheduled an interview yet!

I received an email to check for a status update on the application around 10:55am EST this morning. I'm elated to be interviewing for NM/WHNP! I chose the last interview slot on the 15th, but I'm not sure if that makes any impact on decisions. However, I'm willing to take any help I can get haha. Anyone willing to share some of the things they're doing to prepare? What questions do you plan on asking?

I'm also very excited to make it to this stage of the process since I wasn't invited to interview last year. I hope today is filled with good news for most! But, I also know what it feels like to be rejected at this stage of the process, so for those that didn't get an interview, I feel for you...

I have two questions while we wait - 

Does anyone know what the stats are on % interviewed and % of interviewees admitted? From past year's threads I recall a fairly low number get interviews, but then a solid 60-70% of interviewees are admitted. So basically good odds if you get the interview! But I think earlier in this thread someone said only 30% of interviewees are admitted?! So super curious which is correct. 

Also, this is random, but I know on a past AN thread I stumbled onto a link for a blog by a black woman who went to Yale for the GEPN (midwifery track) and blogged about her experiences there. I can't find the thread with the link. Anyone happen to have it?

I am also curious to know the stats but I really hope the response is 100%! And I would also love any tips for the interview. As someone with (unfortunately) no shadowing experience, I am going into the interview extremely nervous and pretty guarded

Has anyone already filled out the financial aid forms yet? What should we put for Student ID # & NetID? And expected date of graduation for GEPN 2021 is what? May 2024?

I was wondering, is there a specific email that talked about financial aid? I'm not sure where to access the form and am also hoping to start on it.

If you go back to your interview invite, there is a link to finaid near the bottom, I believe.
