Yale GEPN 2019

Published

Like midwifery students of past years, I as well have fallen in love with Yale's GEPN Midwifery program. This question is about the personal statement.

Ive been told that this is the most important part of the application, and that it should tell your story. This was said by Dr. Korevec during the informational, so I'm fairly confident in knowing that's what they want. It should explain why Yale and why nursing. However, whenever someone proofreads my personal statement, they know I'm applying to Yale and say it reads too much like a story and not like a college application essay. It's happened like 3 times and now I'm not sure what to do. Any advice?

thanks!

My GPA is 4.0 but my GRE just met their acceptable scores and I have an interview. I am assuming the personal statement has more wait than the GRE.

I got an email saying my application is complete. Did you try calling and asking Sandy? She is very helpful.

Sorry to hear that. Best of luck with the other applications!

Is anyone still waiting to hear from GEPN? I applied FNP and still haven't heard anything.

I also haven't heard anything for FNP.

Haven't heard anything either for PMHNP. Really hoping we get to hear about more interviews this upcoming week.

I just got off the phone with Sandy. She said it doesn't mean anything if you've not yet heard, and that they hope to have the decisions all out in the next week. Hope that helps.

I've been sending Sandy a lot of emails. I hope be bugging her doesn't affect my chances haha

Do you always get a response, whether it is accept/deny?

Also the status of my application is payment pending. My bank confirmed that the payment was posted 11/1. Did anyone else have a delay?

Yes, everyone is supposed to hear whether they get an interview or not.

I call for that reason HA. However, I think as long as you are respectful and kind it won't affect your application at all. I read the past few years of these forums and it sounds like most applicants call/email her a LOT.

Got an interview for PMHNP on December 10th!!!!
