WSSU 2020 ABSN

Published

Just wanted to see if anyone was applying to WSSU ABSN program? Wanted to see where folks were applying/possibly planning to move from, and what is your general work background?

I'm from Winston Salem, with both a Bachelors and Masters degree in Social Work. I've done some work as a social worker in the mental health, hospital case management setting and also on the insurance side of social work. Good luck to everyone on submitting applications!!!

My overall GPA was a 3.5-3.6 with a degree in Athletic Training.

Hey everyone! I got denied today and when I emailed to ask why, I was told that I didn’t meet the minimum requirement of sending in my SAT scores...which I definitely did. I sent them through College Board and paid $43 to send them. I even sent them my confirmation email from College Board as proof. Then I was told that I should have sent it to the Division of Nursing, not the school. However, there was only the option of sending it to the school, not any department or division. So my question to you all is, how did y’all send in your SAT scores?

I got a paper copy sent to my house and then I put the score in with my other application papers and sent it.

Congrats to all of you accepted! Unfortunately I wasn’t. Out of curiosity, would you all mind sharing your prereq gpas and bachelor (and master) gpas. I’d like to see if I fall in line with those who were accepted. Thank you and best of luck to all of you!

My overall GPA is a 3.1, I messed up early on in undergrad, and my prereq gpa is 3.4. Thank you and good luck to you as well!

I printed an unofficial copy from the college board website and mailed it in along with everything else

Thanks everyone for your replies. I just feel like it was unfair of them to deny me and not even reconsider given the circumstances. I thought sending them in via College Board would ensure them receiving it but I guess I was wrong. If it were my grades or GPA, I would understand completely, but I sent my scores in and even showed them my confirmation email as proof. It was just a lot of time, money, and effort spent during this process and I am just frustrated. Congratulations to everyone who got in though!

My pre req GPA was a 3.8. As it relates to sending in scores. I put everything in a report cover, and put unofficial scores of my ACT score in with the application, and the unofficial transcripts.

When I applied to the school, I applied online and had official transcripts sent from undergrad, grad, and community college (pre-reqs)

Thank you for sharing! My overall is a 3.5 and prereq is a 3.61. Best of luck to you!

Hello everyone, what email did they send the letter to ?

@Kiara Washington the email that you put down on the application. Mine showed up directly in my inbox, however you may want to check your spam box.

If you still don't have an answer you may even want to reach out to the DON and find out your status.

Who sent it? Cause I’m not seeing anything. But I may just call in the morning.

It came from Keya Leak
