WSSU 2019 ABSN!!!

Hello there,

I was wondering if anyone is planning on applying to the WSSU ABSN for the Spring 2019 cohort? If so, I would love to hear where everyone is from. If accepted, I plan on relocating from Massachusetts. From reading previous years' threads the program is pretty competitive so good luck to everyone!

Hello Jamie! Thanks for the helpful information. I would like to know about the work life balance. If you don't mind me asking did you or do you work while attending this program although it was ill advised? Thanks

Luckily, my parents agreed to loan me money while in the program so I could put all my focus into school. However, I do think I would be able to work and go to school, but your job has to be pretty flexible. Our schedules change at the drop of a dime, but A LOT of my classmates maintain jobs and do great in our program so it definitely is possible. I think a good thing to do would be to see how the first 3 months go and then determine if you can take on more responsibilities.

You are very welcome! My cohort accepted about 48 people, but then 10 people didn't show up first day (got into other programs/didn't accept the offers). We have dropped down to about 34 at this point because of various reasons like health issues, PA school, and grades.

Hey Jamie, do you know if having all prerequisite completed by admission deadline put applicants at a better advantage than those who were still completing courses?

So majority of my cohort I believe had our pre-reqs done before the admission deadline, but there were a few people who had to finish one or two classes. I know that may or may not be helpful information lol.

I applied to the January 2019 cohort. Did anyone include supplemental application info? The instructions only asked for the application itself, transcripts, and test scores. Jamie, did people in the 2018 cohort include supplemental info?

No, we just sent in the required materials and application. That's it.
