Anyone applying for the ABSN program at Winston-Salem State University this year? Just wondering if there were others out there who would be in the same boat.

Has anyone heard of funding this year?

Does anyone know how they rank applicants?

I finally received an e-mail on Tueday saying that I was not accepted to the program due to me still taking Developmental Psychology. Oh well, more time to save money I guess! Congrats to all that got in and good luck! Keep me posted throughout your year :)

Sorry to hear that :( But yeah, if you don't have everything done, they don't let you in because they have 200-300 applicants and only around 60 get accepted. Congratulations to those who did! We will see you in January!

Hi guys!

I also received my acceptance email last week! Can anyone make sense of that schedule they sent us? I would just like to get a sense of our daily schedule for when we start! I'm both excited and nervous for January to arrive.

Hey- have you all received a call from Baptist? I haven't heard anything from them still. Should I be concerned?

Also- I know last year's group created a Facebook page to stay in touch easier/quicker than checking these boards. Anyone interested?

Yeah, we should definitely start a facebook group. I have not heard anything from Wake Forest Baptist about funding yet either.

Have any of you gotten a physical yet? I went last week and they couldn't give me a TB test (something to do with a shortage at the CDC or something like that) but I went by the nursing department today and they said we had to have that done by the 15th. I just sent my doctors office a message asking if they had some tests in yet. The nursing department told me to go to MinuteClinic but they don't take insurance for TB tests.

Oh yeah, and the ATI fee due in Feb is around $415! :eek:

Yikes! I wonder what exactly the ATI fee is for? I cannot believe there is still a shortage of TB tests. I ran into that problem in May too.

Does anyone know where orientation is held?

If any of you are able to get a TB test post it and let us know where the goods are! :yes:

Orientation will be January 6th and 7th in room 102 of FL Atkins building. For those that aren't familiar with the campus there are 2 Atkins buildings (FL Atkins and SG Atkins) and one WB Atkinson building (that is sometimes referred to as WB Atkins) so don't get confused! FL Atkins is the long building on the corner of MLK Drive and Cromartie St.
