Hi Everyone! I am starting this thread so that all of us who are writing cpnre on May 18, 2011 can get together and share their views and experiences as we go along and prepare for the exam. I am preparing for the exam by using different review books so that I get to know the test taking strategies. Although I am above average student but I am really nervous to write this exam and I am sure most of us are. I have my own study group and also planning to take a prep course to just brush up on the theory. I will keep this thread updated everyday as to how my preparations are going and will also share some tips to write the exam that I will be learning. Keep studying hard.
Good Luck:redbeathe
It's been overwhelming while preparing for the exam. Although you know everything, still it feels like we need a lot more to know to pass the exam. Analyzing and interpreting the question before answering the exam is very important. We need to understand what the question is asking for. Find a keyword in the question which will help you answer it correctly. As the time comes closer it is getting more scary. Hopefully everything goes well. Keep working hard :)

Hi,
I am also getting ready to write this Wednesday, and I have to say- some days I feel like I am a student in the course, and others I feel like this will be good, it will be fine. I think it is because the amount riding on it, the fact that it all hinges upon us passing! I agree with it feeling scary....I am reviewing, reading, and am going to take that online predictor test through Asitest. Good luck to everyone!!! I have heard that there is a large component about blood and transfusions, IV, as well as Mother and babe, what have you guys heard?
I can understand how you feel followyourbliss. It is so overwhelming. Same here, sometimes I feel I am all set to write the exam but other times I feel so nervous. I did my predictor test and it predicted that 95-100% chances of passing but I heard that exam is way harder than the predictor test. Hope everything goes well on Wednesday. I have heard the same thing that exam will focus more on postpartum and pediatrics. Good luck to you too and everyone who is writing the exam on Wednesday May 18, 2011.
Sumba,
It is comforting knowing that there are others that feel the same way! I am going to do that predictor test today and see how it all shakes out. I feel frustrated that in B.C the only place you can practice peds is in Kamloops! We are so limited here in B.C , particularly on the island as to what we are allowed to do as far as Scope Of Practice. How about you? Back to the reading I go :]
Happy Studying!

I'm writing as well. I did really well in my program and the predictor tests. But I had to work so much my last semester that I really have not studied. Well, its too late now. All I can do is hope and PRAY!
Well....how did we find yesterday's LPN exam? I found some questions quite tricky and really wavered, others were ok, and.....a handful I had NO idea!!!
I am happy it is over and done, it is the waiting that I hate :[ Hope you all had a good day. At my exam a few peeps were noticeably upset and struggling, especially having to come back for the afternoon session.
I found the predictor tests helpful, although not able to help me navigate through areas I didn't study enough.....peds and drugs!
Big sigh...we can relax and wait.
I am proud of us all, it was a long year and a lot of work to get here!
Warm Regards,
It was ok not bad but I agree that it was very tricky specially book 2. I think predictor tests give u an idea on how the exam will be and also the review book was helpful. This wait will be the longest wait ever :) but have no choice. Good Luck for results and keep us posted.
yhea, it wasn't easy but in a way was. i found i got confused on certain topics that were asked over and over and i began to second guess myself.
i found it was really too long. by the second half i was day dreaming, and i talked to others who were doodling, and falling asleep.
if i only had to get over 65 like in school i would be fine, but since we don’t know what a pass is, i really don’t know how i did.
the waiting will be hard!
i think today was the first day in a long time i didn't set my alarm. it was fabulous!
I hate waiting!!!!!

Hi everyone,
Waiting for the result is killing me..... anyway i've seen from Alberta's LPN web site that the result were mailed out last June 10 and since Canada post is on strike, Alberta will send the result to their candidates through email. Any news with BC on how they would send ours? And is it true that if your name is still in the public registry it means you passed even though you haven't received your result yet?
You know- I was asking a few LPN friends at work about that, and it seems we all have heard different things! I have heard that if your name is removed it means you have failed, I have also heard that it will change from Interim to Full if you pass....somewhat frustrating with a lack of concrete info! Well, I received an email from the college saying that the results will come at six weeks and if the postal strike continues they will deliver them by an alternate way-perhaps Fedex? Who knows. This is in B.C. It will be a huge relief when we all hear by July 2nd!!!!
