well on monday i got into a car and drove 4 hrs into the states to take my nclex. well i wasn't nervous at all on monday or tuesday morning .... exam was at 9 am. took the test and left thinking wow what the heck was that and totally brain dead. well since i am anal and wanted to see if the web sites said anything i was constantly checking them. well pearson said nothing so on a whim i looked at mn's site and it stated that i passed :)

:balloons: :balloons: :balloons: i passed the nclex :balloons: :balloons: :balloons:

hummmm the crappy thing is now i will be an rn in the states but i will be a grad nurse until the end of august up here in canada

:balloons: congradulations!!!

i am taking mine tomorrow, i did saunder cd about 500 questions (not sure how many now) since the second year program started, and with all other sources i used total maybe close to 3000 questions, i believe if i don't pass with 75 questions, i sure will pass at the 100th.

congs again!:balloons:

during my exam i was hoping that i would pass with 75 but that number came and went and all i keep saying was crap crap crap ........ until i thought that hey that means i haven't totally bombed it yet. sooooooooo on went the questions and man can i say by 175 i had to read questions over and over again cause i just couldn't concentrate on the bloody words :(. when the test finished i got up and honestly thought i had failed i couldn't even have a conversation with out mixing up my words thats how brain dead i was.

i hope you pass at 75 but if the test keeps going don't sweat it :) i wish you good luck let us know when you have passed :)

i hope so..i am really scared...

was it similar to ur tests in class...or just as hard as those darn nclex practice questions...i guess my prob is that we were not exposed to all of the info the questions have

for me i had no nclex practice questions or any prep from school. i'm from canada and we don't do this test up here (our test is also very different we have two parts one with multiple choice and then we have a section thats short answer). for me i was nervous cause some of the lab values are different, med names are different and sadly until i read it in the saunders book we are not taught about disaster drills so there was a lot that i didn't know. i think the best thing to do is break down the answers and really think about what you would do on a ward or what the question is really asking for.

relax don't sweat it to much ..... why work yourself up to the point where your to worked up to think. you went to school you passed your nursing program have faith in yourself :)

(ok i know its easier said then done but take a deep breath ans walk away from the book/cd you know all you know and cramming is not going to help at the last minute:) )

where are you planning to practice? seems like you could make much better $$ in the states, though i know that's not the total consideration.

i'm thinking of going to tx ..... ok i want somewhere warm minus 20-45 degree winters are a killer :( especially when it lasts for about 6 months minimum lol

on a side note i'd like to go somewhere where theres not a lot of hurricanes, tornado's or earthquakes ..... yeah i know i'm kidding myself on going somewhere where theres none of that with the warmth that i am looking for :lol2:

i've pretty well decided to go to new york city for a couple of years. i've lived in florida for forever, and the news on hurricanes seems way overblown (pun intended). i don't worry about them at all, but i don't live in one of the high risk areas, such as the panhandle.

See, I told you not to worry about it.

You should come down here and work with us, in central/east Texas (60m n. of Houston).
