just to make myself clear..the question is a hypothetical one for those guys that are single cuz i think some people misconstrue what i meant by it

Doc, you can do a medical diagnosis on me... ill do a nursing diagnosis on you.

I would totally marry a female MD> Actually I am dating one of the residents now. So I have no problem with the idea at all.

Specializes in Med-Surg, free clinic.

I did. It will be 26 years this August.

There were and still are problems, but having only been married once, I don't know if the problems are due to her being a MD, or would be there regardless of her profession.

My impression of female MDs is that they are very motivated, hard working and intense. My wife knows countless female MD's who want to marry, but cant find a mate. This is because men usually are intimidated by women who are smarter, better educated, better paid or more confident. If you can match her intensity and provide a balance to her life it might work. Then again, who knows why some marriages work and some do not?

Specializes in PACU.

If she met my other requirements and could tolerate and love me, of course. I'm not going to limit my choices based upon profession.

Specializes in He who hesitates is probably right....

If the female MD looked like an NFL cheerleader, maybe. I'm in touch with my inner pig.

Specializes in ICU.
I think my wife would get really, really, really upset.

mmmm.. yeah. Mine would be a TAD disgruntled.

Can your wife get me some referrals? :lol2:

I'd think that success in marrying a physician or other professional ( I was once sweet on a podiatrist ) would be the ability to be your own person as well. Interdependent instead of co-dependent. A lot of men talk a good game but are really quite insecure and need a wife to continually validate them. I don't think a professional with that level of intensity will consider that a good part of a relationship.

Definitely an interesting question all around.
