Lets say Jesus Christ was on earth today ,he went to school and became a nurse, and had the same attitude towards life that he ,apparently had 2000 years ago.
Would he be employable? Or would he make such a fuss when he saw the cost cutting at patients expense and the injustice of the health care system and the discrepancy of care bet/ those with money vs those without, that he would simply not be employable.
And for those christian nurses out there who try to follow his example in attitude and practice,Im one of them,do you find yourself making compromises between your efforts to follow Jesus' example in your daily life and the need to survive and be employable?
Ok, so he was a self employed carpenter who needed healthcare benefits and became a nurse when the housing industry declined and he retrained through a government program. OK, he is working on the floor healing all the ailments, who would need doctors then? Who would the surgeons think they are anymore? Oh no !!!!!!!
That story about having experience in carpentry sounds a little suspicious. Back in those days tools would have been awfully expensive and custom made. How would he have afforded them without a Jerusalem Home Depot to offer a low price guarantee? And where are all those things he made with these tools? Does anyone have a table with the initials "JC" carved into the underside?
Someone should ask these questions at the nursing school interview. Every applicant has to be screened regardless of background.

MOT?
I just kinda picture him sitting at the bar with all of us at T.G.I Fridays (or Nick & Jimmy's in Toledo) just relaxing and laughing about silly stuff. I just think he'd be a cool guy, not uptight, and can be lighthearted at times. :)

Whaddya talkin' about?? His Dad gave him the tools when he retired!! Heck, those tools are over 2,000 years old, can you imagine him on that PBS show about rare Antique finds?
"Well, Jesus, this hammer dates to about, well, has to be a few years before you were born so, what, 5 B.C.?"
Jesus: "Yes, Kurt, I think that would be about right.."
"So this could easily be worth over 35 million dollars on the open market, Jesus. What a marvelous find! Not to mention it may be priceless as it was crafted by the Son of God's StepDad. Just amazing!"
Jesus: "Wow, that's neat, Kurt"
Announcer: "Another spectacular find here! You just never know what priceless antiques you may have in your home!"

Not if he was mandated overtime and couldn't join us! LOL
The replies,so far,are very interesting. Many reveal the repliers theology as to who jesus or god is or they reveal the unbelievers view.
Would any one be interested in pursing a talk about the existence of God or who Jesus was on another thread? I personally love talking about that kind of stuff.
Well, since He is Jesus, I suppose He could do anything He wanted to do. I'm sure He'd tell the moneychangers how wrong they are. Then He'd go raise all the dead that had been caused by the short-staffing. He could take a huge patient load because instead of running them all over the hospital, He'd just heal them, and I'd be happy to do His paperwork for Him to keep the government-types happy. It isn't a question of whether or not He's employable, but that He'd put Himself out of a job by healing everyone.
