Would you ever own a motorcycle? YES or NO?

I LOVE motorycles. But I also know many people see them as death traps. Including my mother. My father owns a motorcycle. Heck he's been riding since before I was born. But that doesn't change her view of them lol

Either way, I was wondering since a lot of you work in hospitals, if it has changed your view of motorcycles. In a more negative way.

Which is funny because I was going down the road once and I saw this male nurse on a sports bike, and not only was he not wearing boots, but he was wearing crocs! Those things will fly right off if you crash. And how did I know he was a nurse? He was wearing scrubs! lol at least he had a helmet.

daily rider, here. sometimes wear helmet. just keep your eyes a minute ahead of you and everything will be fine. i learned to ride in china, so riding in the states is a piece of cake.

I've been riding for years (sport, dirt and dual-sport), and even raced and taught track-riding for a few years. Nursing defines my professional life (if I could ever find a decent job, that is), and being a motorcyclist defines my personal one. I live for long road trips with my riding pals, and I don't think anything could make me give that up. :DI would *never* dream of riding without a helmet, even if the law gave me the option. Sorry, but that's just asking for trouble.

YEAH!!!! I've been a registered nurse for going on 6 years. I've worked orthopaedics for the most of my nursing career and for the last 2.5 I've worked in the the OR. I own a 2005 Honda ST1300 and a 2010 Kawasaki dualsport bike:) I wouldn't change anything. I love to ride, it is so freeing and fun to me:)

Ive been riding all my life. I own a Harley and a VStar. It gives me a sense of freedom that cant be explained. After working long hours and wanting to rip my hair out, a bike ride relaxes me a great deal.

A lot of things can kill you. If you arent safe and pay attention to your surroundings, crossing the street can kill you, sleeping with the wrong man can kill you,drinking, smoking etc can kill you but a lot of us do those things too.

Wouldnt trade my bike...even for my nursing license.

I would love to own a Vespa. It's not exactly a motorcyle, but you do have to get a motorcycle endorsement on your driver's license if the engine is over 50cc. The one I want costs about $5,500 but it gets like 70mpg and it's adorable.

I've been riding for 5 years.....love love love it, it's in my blood! I took the class to learn to ride I think life's too short, and when it's your time to go it's your time to go and there's nothing you can do about it.......it stinks that people have been seriously hurt or killed in a motorcycle accident...absolutely....and yes I always have that fear in the back of my head....but I'm not going to stop doing what I love because of it...heck I could walk out to my mailbox & get run down by someone driving too close to the side of the road........I own a Harley... it was a gift from my husband when we got engaged as a surprise to me....I had a Honda Shadow 750 prior to getting my Harley......My husband was totally against my riding when he found out I rode out of fear for my safety......but he still got me the Harley because he knew how much I loved riding.....funny thing is I got him into it big time....................................................I even taught him how to ride

Today I went to drop my son off at the YMCA for his swim meet. As I was about to turn into the parking lot, this guy comes peeling out of the lot with what looked to be a 9 year old girl on the back of his motorcycle holding on for dear life. No helmets on either one of them! And while the guy had sunglasses on, the poor girl didn't have any eye protection on what so ever.

That really burned me up! I'm pretty sure there is a law that riders have to wear eye protection.

I hope he gets a ticket!! I mean, how irresponsible is that???

And for the record, no I would never own a motorcycle. I have enough trouble navigating traffic in my car, I cant imagine doing that on a bike.

its simple...lobby your state to have helmet laws in place because eye protection doesn't mean crap on the cement
