working on thanksgiving? what are you thankful for?

i'm happy that i finished college all of those years ago so that i could work as a nurse. i have a steady job with benefits and am enjoying the lifestyle that allows me!

i'm thankful to be a nurse -- if i wasn't, i never would have met the wonderful man who is my husband.

i'm thankful for my family -- my mother is still strong as a horse, my father still has all of his marbles, my stepdaughter is healthy and beautiful and my husband loves me. i'm so lucky.

i'm thankful for my patient and his family, who understand that they have much to be thankful for this holiday season after someone gave the gift of a heart for transplant.

i'm thankful that someone ordered us a take-out turkey, since no one brought one in for the potluck today.

Yes, I am working this evening too.

I am thankful that I am not the one in the hospital bed!

I am thankful that I have a wonderful, loving husband and a beautiful new baby son!

I am thankful that we have such a loving, supportive family that would do anything to help each other out.

I am thankful for my friends who always are there when needed.

I am thankful that I have a job that is as flexible as to allow me to not need to hire someone to watch my baby. (also for the excellent benefits and hours)

I am thankful that I have a roof over my head, running vehicles, and a stocked pantry and refrigerator.

I am thankful for the life I have been given. It's been a wild ride, but a wonderous one at that! :balloons:

I am very thankful for God, family, health, friends, and all the wonderful things in life that I am so blessed to have to enjoy. This includes being a nurse. I wish a very safe, healthy, and happy Thanksgiving day to all.

I am thankful for telephones, so that I can keep in touch with my family back home in Maine, and my husband who is in training in Wisconsin, preparing to deploy to Iraq.

I am thankful for the nice weather today, sixty degrees and sunny, so that I can get outside and take a walk, and try to get my mind off everything.

I am thankful that my husband and I celebrated Thanksgiving together before he left for training.

I am thankful that my period still hasn't come yet (I'm a week late), so I can keep hoping that my hubby and I have finally been successful in our attempt to be parents!

What wonderful posts to read!! You are all right... we are so blessed. Even on the crazy days, we are always blessed.

I did work, and afterward made a ham and a turkey dinner with all the stuff and took it to an inner city park for the holiday. Glad to see so many people come out. A usual holiday deal for me, but I forgot to take a plate for myself this time. I did get the wishbone, tho...! Regardless, I had a great day. Happy Thanksgiving all!

Forgot to address the other question in our post:

I'm thankful for the people I saw today.

There's so much to be thankful for. I'm thankful first and foremost for God for being in my life and helping me to accomplish all that I have accomplished in my life, importantly, nursing school. Without him I would be nothing. I'm thankful for husband, who is my biggest fan, cheerleader, and friend. I'm thankful for my family and friends. Also thankful to be able to write on this board what I'm thankful for.

I am thankful for my wonderful friends and family, for my home, a job that allows me to help others everyday despite how stressful it can be at times. I am thankful for food, even though I sometimes eat far too much of it especially around the holidays. I am thankful that I live in a free democratic nation where all people are free and equal to be themselves. I am thankful for my health, for all of the blessings God has given me in my life far too many to list here, thats the understatement of the millenium. I don't mind working tonight really. I have eaten lots of food today and wouldn't mind passing out somewhere but I am good for my shift. I just started downloading christmas music on my laptop. I started with the instrumental version of sleigh ride, such a pretty song, next will be the Carol of the Bells.
