Has anyone worked full-time and attend the LVN program full-time? How did you do?

Specializes in hospice.

Craaaaap.....I am up so late and feel so behind...... We haven't been graded on much yet so I feel like I really have no idea how I'm doing. The grades I do have are good, but in two weeks I have a huge test and I know I'm not ready. I'm really starting to hate this constant non-confidence. I'm smart, I'm a good student, and I feel like none of that means anything. :(

Time to try for 5 hours of sleep so I can go to school all day and then work all night. :'(

Yikes! You sound just like me.. I'm not the best test taker. =( Good Luck on your test!!!

Specializes in 6 yrs LTC, 1 yr MedSurg, Wound Care.

Do you want to start a club? We can vote on who gets to be president, and vice president. I don't think a treasurer is very necessary, all my money goes to gas and groceries, but if anyone needs a title we could throw it in. We can have weekly mandatory meetings (but not punishable by death if you don't show up cause we ALL know how the homework is!)

I've always been good at school. I second guess myself a LOT, that's been a lot of my problems. I think the answer is one thing, but then, well, this other answer sounds really good so I think I'll go with that. But come to find out... Yeah that's me.

My 3rd grade teacher told me one time, "always go with your first instinct." I should listen to her more often.

I'm doing it now and I'm doing well so far, but I'm behind on reading for class. Just started in January. Ask me in May and let's see if I passed.

I'm a CNA also and I work full-time 11-7 and plan on doing the full time lpn program. Are you still doing well? Are you exhausted? I know it will be tough but it's only a yr. I'm willing to put up with it for the outcome.

Hi Juicy_milan!

I start the program in April. =)

Specializes in hospice.

One more milestone: I passed my medication administration practicum tonight. Next up, lab final and then clinicals.

i worked as a medical assistant and went to school for lvn its extremely hard and you have no life for the entirety of the program, i lose tons and tons of friends all i did was school work and study for 15 months

I have a close friend who worked full time nocs throughout our Lvn program. She was sharp as a tack and dedicated. She could also go days at a time without sleep--necessary because our program was 40 hrs per week over 5 days. She passed all of our end of class assessments and graduated and found a job.

I'm working a 8-4 full time job Monday - Friday and attend LPN school 5-10:30 Monday-Thursday, finished my first level with a 3.0. Trust me its hard and I am sleep deprived but you can do it if you want it bad enough. I'm in a PM program 18 months so I'm in my second level with 4 more to go. You can do it but you have to be dedicated.

Good Luck!
