Hi folks,
I know I haven't been around for awhile...(sorry) but I'm in a little "situation" and I just needed to get everyone's input on it. Sunday afternoon my hubby and I and a few of our friends went to a local bar to have some Bloody Mary's. I think I had three maybe four drinks at the most...which for me is not a lot because we go out and drink socially quite a bit on the weekends. Anyways...this creepy geeky guy was hitting on me all day...following me around, sitting by me, offering to buy me drinks,etc...you get the picture. None of us, including my husband thought anything of it...we just kind of laughed it off. I did kind of get pissed when I turned over to him and saw him pouring extra salt in my bloody mary...although i still didn't think anything of it. Well...about an hour or so later...I was completely intoxicated and we decided to head home. I got home....threw up and then immediately passed out..(this was like 6pm..according to my hubby). Apparently...about 8 hours later...I jumped out of bed...screaming because I literally saw a rat crawling on me....(of course there was no rat). I then went out to the kitchen and saw thousands of ants crawling everywhere and heard loud footsteps...like someone was marching right up to me...over and over again. Then I went back to bed....and was seeing shadows of people all over the bedroom. I guess I must have fallen back to sleep again and then my hubby woke me up because he was leaving for work and I apparently had no recollection of any of Sunday at that point......I asked him why he was going to work on a sunday???? Anyways...it was alll soooooooo weird and I literally still feel weird today (tuesday)...I just feel super spacey, dizzy and extremely tired. I actually had to leave work right after I got there lastnight(mon. night) because I just couldn't function. I'm just feeling really weird and scared about the whole thing.... I just don't think there's any way three drinks could have done that to me. If my drink was laced with something....could the effects still be lingering this far out?? I'm just wondering if anyone can shed any light on this for me.....?? I'm so sorry this got so long....someone help..this is too bleeping weird!!!

First mistake is laughing off this creep's advances on you. Your husband should have out a stop on it immediately.
Ok- MAJOR warning flag right then & there. (you saw him pouring extra salt in your drink). First of all, why was he even near your drink? Second of all, why didn't you say something to him? Third of all- why in the world would you even drink it???
How could you think nothing of it? I hope you & hubby learned a lesson. You were lucky this time. Sounds like you had a bad trip of some sort of drug. NEVER EVER EVER EVER let your drink out of your sight....and certainly NEVER and I MEAN NEVERRRRRRRRRRR drink something that you saw someone pouring something into.
This happened to me once. I was in the service at the time. Myself and two other enlisted had 24 guard duty (inside). At some point, I really started to feel weird - pink elephants, the whole nine yards. I even needed to lie down (we had sleeping shifts - I took mine early). It was surreal.
Much later - both the co-enlisted personnel (that I had duty with) confessed, thru peels of laughter. Apparently, they wanted to get high, and thought it would be funny to get me high at the same time. They also didn't want me suspecting they were high. Great. *rolleyes*
So, yes. It does happen.
When I was young and innocent I went out with a friend prior to my wedding (and several friends of hers I did not know) and had a similar experience...ended up getting so scared I made her call the EMT's to take me to the hospital. This was decades ago...but it was scary enough to me to be a huge wake up call...use caution around folks I don't know, and never leave my drinks unattended. I never follwed up but I was sure my drink was laced...nothing like that had EVER happened before when I had alcohol.
I'm sorry this happened to you...but in today's drug screening environment for nurses, I would definitely find out what it was and get it documented so it doesn't prevent you from getting a job in the future.
I had a similar experience a few years ago. Bad part was I was out alone in a place that I frequented. I woke up with a guy the next day with no recollection of anything in between. There was about a 10 hour "gap" for me. All I had that night was beer, and not that much. I was sick for 2 days, had to call in to work because I couldn't get out of bed.
Rohipinol is very very hard to get ahold of these days but GHB is another drug that you might consider, it kind of replaced roofies.
Yes..I agree with y'all...I shouldn't have let this guy make advances towards me to begin with...I guess my hubby should have said something. We were all just having such a good time...and I didn't want my husband to worry too much because when he gets pissed...he really gets pissed...so instead of getting mad,we just all kind of laughed it off. We are the type of couple that just like to have fun and don't ever want to make waves. I can look back and see that things should have been done differently, that I should have asked for a different drink,etc....but you know...sometimes you just don't think of stuff like that. I'm sorry that I was so stupid...now I feel bad..sniffle. I do, however, appreciate the insight and I will be much, much more careful after this!! Ok..thanks again all..

My 1st reaction after reading this was PCP or angel dust. It's available in powder that instantly becomes soluble in H20 or alcohol. Nausea, vomiting, hallucinations, delusions, etc. I'm glad you're OK now. Since you mentioned you were friendly with the bartender, etc. I would mention it to him and ask him to keep an eye out for this guy. Plus you've never had this reaction to alcohol before so it's all very suspicious to me that something definitely was added to your drink. If he did it to you, he's likely to do it to other woman as well.

When you have the small things happen to you, don't laugh them off.
Geez....how creepy...
I have to agree with reporting this to the police and getting a screen done to CYA.
My Amanda who is just finishing up Basic training, has been warned and warned again about leaving her drink alone. Even to take it to the bathroom with her and never let it out of her sight because of situations like this....Gosh, I'm so glad things didn't go further!
I don't know if a tox screen is a good idea, acid and ectasy are pretty soluble and run through the system pretty quickly (learnt this from a really intresting pt in psych) it may be possible that other similat drugs do also. If the screen would come back with something and the BON would get ahold of it they would have you in trials for months, even if you said someone did it to you.

Your not stupid! (hugs!) Actually, this was a good thread to remind the rest of us to be aware of our surroundings. I am glad your ok! It sickens me that people are out there to cause potential harm to others.

A lot of husbands would track that guy down and give him an attitude adjustment. I hope you contact the bartender and give a description of the guy so he can be on the lookout. Another thing, if you see anyone altering your drink, ask the bartender for another. There is no point in taking risks. Glad you are now ok.
