Will the Minnesota state shutdown affect the ability to get the NCLEX results?

Published

Hi

So I am kinda worried. I will be taking my NCLEX exam this week but I heard that due to the Minnesota state shutdown we are not able to obtain our results from the Minnesota board of nursing, and neither will we be able to prove that we are RNs if we pass because that info is usually obtained from the Minnesota Board of nursing. Is this true? Any advise?

Thanks.

I would assume so. On the furlough days in CA, the state employees don't work, so the workload gets shoved up a day. Maybe they will get their heads out of their rears soon so there is not too much of an inconvenience.

I am wondering the same thing. I am supposed to take my test on July 25 but am a little concerned now. Does this mean our application is no good or do we still test and just won't receive a license? I am confused. I am trying to find someone to contact to find out more information. Please let me know if you hear anything.

Yes. BON is shut down, to the extent that they aren't even investigating reports.

Thanks for your response guys.

@ Idesire, will let you know if I hear anything.

FWIW, you can test, and the results will be sent to the state, but you won't get a license until they're back up and working. I've got a friend who took hers the day I took mine and she doesn't even have a number, let alone the paper license.

Oh I see, that is so unfortunate though. I guess will have to wait and hope the shutdown ends soon.

Thanks for your helpful response.
