Careers outside the hospital?
I personally worked Medsurg for 2 years and ICU 6 years. I really loved ICU but had to take a break from bedside care ( burnout...LOL). I searched online for non-bedside care jobs and found jobs in Pharmaceutical companies. Now I work as a healthcare communicator/product specialist. It's all on the phone and due to COVID I work from which I really like. These companies hire nurses and pharmacists. It was a big transition though, having worked in the Hospital, I was used to being on my feet, running on adrenaline..LOL and always busy. With this new job I felt bored at first but now I am loving it. :-)

Critical Care Nurse Internship: Any advice/ Suggestions?
Hello everyone. I am currently a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania, I have been practicing in a Med-Surg unit for two years. I am now looking to transition to Critical Care Nursing. I have not been successful here in PA so I am willing to relocate to any other states that has critical care nursing position at entry level. (Any suggestions/recommendations please) In January 2014, I applied for a critical care internship at Florida Hospital. Unfortunately I was not selected and I assumed its was because my Florida License was still pending. Last month I checked the website and they had more openings, even now as I speak they are still accepting applications. Now that I hold a Florida License I decided to reapply but my profile would say "no longer considered for this position" Has anybody ever experienced this? I never got even an interview. Based on their requirements I qualify. But it seems like I can no longer apply to that position even though they are still taking application.

Graduated 2010 almost gave up nursing.
Have you tried applying in the LTC facilities? You can start there. I understand you have been out of school for a while and you feel like you don't remember much, but even as a new grad you never feel like you know much, school work and the real world of nursing are totally different, that's why we get orientations/training, so this should not be a problem for you, just keep on trying and don't give up, search for agencies as well so they can send you to to work in people's homes or nursing homes as needed, and try LTC facilities as well. I'll be praying for you. Good luck.

Will the Minnesota state shutdown affect the ability to get the NCLEX results?
Oh I see, that is so unfortunate though. I guess will have to wait and hope the shutdown ends soon. Thanks for your helpful response.

Will the Minnesota state shutdown affect the ability to get the NCLEX results?
Hi So I am kinda worried. I will be taking my NCLEX exam this week but I heard that due to the Minnesota state shutdown we are not able to obtain our results from the Minnesota board of nursing, and neither will we be able to prove that we are RNs if we pass because that info is usually obtained from the Minnesota Board of nursing. Is this true? Any advise? Thanks.

Thanks MedSurgeMess and Leslie. I'll do that. I usually use the Nusring Diagnostic book for reference but this particular diagnosis was not in the book and that's why I was asking for advise. believe me, am not trying to be lazy in doing my homework. I am a great student and my hard work has allowed me to be accepted in the nursing program. And I know am gonna be a great nurse, trust me, so 2ndwind dear, am not trying to cheat or anything. Thanks.

So what kind of nursing interventions and goals can one implement, especailly when there is nothing negative? Thanks for your help.
