Who's Waiting 4 Fall 07 Acceptance?

Published

Hello Fellow Nail-Biters!

Well, it's my second time around applying for Los Angeles County-USC Hospital Nursing Program.

I have to say, I felt torn about not getting in for Spring 07. When waiting for a letter in December I had major anxiety about starting back up again in Jan. I've been chomping at the bit to get in and then the opportunity is there and I panic!

All that to say, I have all GE and pre-reqs completed and really had nothing pressing that I had to take, other than GE toward my BSN. When I got my denial letter I took it as God's gift for me to take some much needed down time and rejuvenate my mind, body & spirit. I've got full speed without a break for 2 years. I'm actually glad that it didn't happen, I think I'll do much better right out of the shoot by starting in the Fall with a nice 8 months of rest behind me.

So, letters are suppose to be mailed in early May and that seems like forever away from now!!!! Is anyone else out there waiting impatiently and wear did you apply?

Hi!!! This is the second time that I applied too!!! And also the letters are going to be sent at the end of April - May. I have all the pre-reqs and GE courses too besides two courses for the BSN. If I don't get in, again, which I hope is not the case. I will take the final two clases for the BSn but I really really want to get in for Fall. Even though I have a 3.8 GPA I have one terrible B!!!!! and that puts me in disadvantage with the straight A's students but I hope that having all the core classes and GE give me some chance. Good luck and you are not alone in this bitting nails, chasing the mailman prosses. When I got my denial letter last time I felt bad but at the same time I was so relieve that the waiting nightmare was over. Now I'm in that terrible waiting ride again and is worst than to know you're not in. Keep the faith!!!! and let us know if you get in.

Hi Veronica

It's good to hear from someone out there that's in the same boat. I've got a 3.8 also, isn't that crazy that's still not good enought to get us right in? Well, probably is...but there's 500 other people with a 3.8 too.

Well, God's got a plan for when this is all suppose to happen and I have to respect that He knows what is best for me & my family. I really feel like I'm ready to give it my all! I have a really good chance this time around because the highest # of points they accepted for Spring '07 was 73 down to 70 (I had 69, uurrrggghhh!) But with the courses I finished last Fall it boosted me up to 75 points. I still don't want to be to confident because I don't how many other people earned that many or more points also.

Geez! We could play the "what if" game all day - but I'm committed to thinking positive and feel confident in my hard work paying off!

Definately keep me posted! I'll do the same.

Hello, I read your posts when I was looking for info about LACCON and wanted to say good luck. I received the phone call that I has been waiting for, I am IN! I think they started calling people this past week, so hopefully you will get one soon. I applied for the bridge program last year and was wait listed. Things happen for a reason Good luck.

The school called me on Monday of this week and asked if I wanted to attend the bridge program. Uh duh, thats why I applied. I was very excited because they did say that they weren't notifying anyone unitl May. I think they are doing the bridge program applicants first because we have orientation next week! Talk about short notice. Also we start school they second week of June compared to the generic students that start in Aug. So good luck. Let me know if you get in =)

Hi. I'm waiting too. I applied to CSUS for Fall semester. I should hear by email on the 14th. I'm getting nervous. I think I'll get in because I have about 20 more points than the cutoff from last semester but I keep coming up with all these crazy things that could mess it all up. Are your schools only based on GPA? If so that's kinda unfortunate. CSUS uses the TEAS also, which is what saved me (hopefully!).

Good luck everyone!

Hi everyone, This is my first posting here on this forum (very excited)!! I have applied to the MEPN program at CSUDH. This is the only progrgam I have applied to, so I am one of those that put all the eggs into one basket. I am working on plan B this summer, for alternative schools, if this does not pan out. Good luck to everyone, anyone else full of anxiety and stress???

I'm stressin as well! Like you, I only applied to one school. The other schools in my area are lottery and not BSN programs so I'm just waiting to hear from the one. They say that they will be sending out emails on the 14th (Monday). Last semester in organic chem I had a bunch of classmates that were waiting on this same school and some of the "best" of them didn't get in. This semester no one in my classes is waiting, which I find kinda odd. Maybe I'm just taking things in a slightly different order than most of the folks trying to get into this BSN program (like they all take o-chem last??).

Well best of luck to you! I'm hoping I get the email in the morning on the 14th so I can go gush at school on Monday! =)

I'm waiting on my rejection letter from Sierra in Placer County. It's lottery based and I was in progress when applying so chances are about nill that I will get in but if you don't play the lottery, you will never win, right? ;)

Hi,

this is my first post. I was just accepted to Ohlone College for their ASN program. They are in the bay area. First time in the lottery and I got in. Guess I am blessed. Hope you all get in soon.

I heard last week that on my third attempt to get into lottery based American River College in Sacramento, I'm in for fall.

On my second try to get into Sacramento City College - no luck!

On my first try to get into the extended Sacramento City College program - no luck!

The lottery system stinks, but I'm glad I finally have a place in the fall and it's at my first choice school.

congrats! that's awesome! a friend of mine just got in first try at scc but not arc. when i decided to go back to school and heard about this (horrible!) lottery system i decided i'd just work towards csus since a three year bsn would be faster than waiting who knows how long. two days till i find out! anyhow, i commend you for your perseverance! i don't think i could stand it. that really takes a lot of strength so go though semester after semester.
