Who's starting Spring 2016?

Published

Last week I received my acceptance letter and will begin a 2yr RN program in January!!!!! I'm so excited and anxious about going that I think I'm starting to bore my family and coworkers talking about it. So I decided to come here and bore you guys lol.

So who's starting this Spring and what are you doing to prepare yourself? Or are you just relaxing and enjoying the next couple of months?

I'm currently working as much overtime as I can for "just incase" money. I would love to start reading but my school has not put our book list up yet. Need to decide between a MacBook Pro vs. MacBook Air, and either a ridiculously expensive, but adorable, Erin Condren planner or a cheap boring one. As lame as it sounds I've been watching YouTube videos of how people organize their planners and binders for nursing school. I gotta do something to pass the time!

I hear white is hard to keep white. People recommend oxy clean.

I got my acceptance to my top choice school for January as well :)

As OP, I am definitely going to get an Erin Condren planner. They're so great for time management and organization so I definitely just see it as a necessary part of my budget :p

As far as preparing, while my books haven't posted yet (and I have new student open house this coming Monday), I've still taken it upon myself to start studying basic dosage calculations and conversions, etc. Rather be as ahead as I can while I have the chance, lol.

And white, my scrubs are all white. Top and bottom. Needless to say I'm buying a bulk amount of tide to go sticks and oxiclean

If I am not mistaken, mine will be burgundy colored. I cannot buy them or register for nursing classes until my info session next month. Just about everything (class/clinical) is lottery picked. It would be great if I got into any of my top choices.

Anyone have an idea as to what their weekly class/clinical schedules will look like?

As far as I know I have on Mondays skills lab from 6am-8am and then theory from 9-11am, then skills lab again until 12. Then theory againnn from 1-3.

Then clinicals will be two days Tues-Fri from 6:30am-1:30. The clinical days/sites are dependent on what everyone registers for once Spring 2016 registration opens. My registration date is like 5 days after priority registration starts at my school, so I'm hoping I can get the one clinical site I have my eye on!

My acceptance letter is coming next Friday, the 30th. I cannot contain my excitement. The application period opened July 1st, and I applied that day. I have waited 113 days so far...can you tell I am obsessing?! All of my prerequisites are done, and I have a pretty awesome GPA, so I am pretty sure I am in, but I wont sleep easy until I get that letter!

I sent a letter to the Army for my medical records, but plan to have titers checked for my immunizations as a back up. I feel like there are a million things to do still, but I am doing a 14 credit semester and am swamped at the moment. A planner is a must...thank you for the reminder.

Good luck to the rest of you who are still waiting. My fingers are crossed! :)

My scrubs are burgundy top, white pants. Ugh why white pants?!?!

My schedule for the first semester will be Mon, Tues lecture 4pm-5:50pm, Wed lab 4pm-7pm and Thurs clinical 4-10:30pm.

I start my ADN in January also!! I have been waiting so long for this day to finally come so I am beyond excited. And our uniforms are all white also. Not excited about that lol. But we do get to wear khakis and polos to class instead of the scrubs

I should be getting my phone call tomorrow!

Yaaay for Spring 2016!

I just registered for my courses yesterday!

I have lecture and lab on Mondays (2-8p)

Pharmacology and Health Assessment on Wednesdays (2-8p)

Clinical will be on Thursdays but they haven't let us know the schedules as of yet.

Our scrubs are the ugliest color of blue :(

I am soooo excited!

I have been filling my cart on Amazon with tons of nurse stuff! I am trying to decide between a wrist watch or a lapel watch. What are you guys going with?

Got my call, I'm in! Go to sign the official paperwork Tuesday and pick up my packet. YAY!

I'm starting in Spring as well! I bought a Plum Paper planner. Very similar to Erin Condren, it's sooo cute. But a tad bit cheaper and had the layout I wanted. I'm also reading my ENORMOUS textbook whenever I can. It's very intimidating but I'm excited while I read it. Mostly, I'm clinging on to the excitement as long as possible before the panic sets in. [i'm assuming orientation will be the beginning of that, our's is December 4th and 5th]. I've done almost all the program requirements except CPR, which I get on November 20th. Spending a lot of time watching youtubers who are going through nursing school as well like Rachel P. I already have my uniform which is teal scrubs and a white lab coat.

I too start in January 2016. I wasn't even going to apply, but decided to on the last day for application to do so. So happy I did.

Class:

Monday 9-3 (Class)

Tuesday 9-2 (Class)

Wednesday (Off)

Thursday 7-7 (Clinical)

Friday 9-2 (Lab)

Our scrubs are white top with black pants. I'm cool with the colors, but the white tops are button down and look very cheap. I would prefer a regular white nursing top but oh well.
