  1. Thanks you guys :] I think the only reason I wasn't wanting to 100% spend the money now on the Cardio III was because of my fear of it growing legs and walking away during skills lab or a clinical rotation. I would be much less upset over an 80$ one versus one double that, but I think given the quality difference, I still might go for it. Just be a little extra cautious
  2. Hi everyone - So I'm preparing to start my nursing program in January and I'm shopping around for my new stethoscope right now, and I came across the Littmann Classic III. I know its relatively new, and I've looked around for a decent amount of reviews but fell short. I was wondering if anyone uses this daily and what they think of this stethoscope? I had a Littmann Lightweight II when I did my EMT program, but the sounds weren't all that great. I'm slightly hard of hearing in my right ear, so I'm hoping to really find something with better acoustics. Would the Classic III do this for me? Or should I spend the extra money now (versus after graduation) and go for the Cardiology III for the acoustic quality? Any information I greatly appreciate! Thanks :]
  3. It's not showing up in my search engine on Facebook ):
  4. As far as I know I have on Mondays skills lab from 6am-8am and then theory from 9-11am, then skills lab again until 12. Then theory againnn from 1-3. Then clinicals will be two days Tues-Fri from 6:30am-1:30. The clinical days/sites are dependent on what everyone registers for once Spring 2016 registration opens. My registration date is like 5 days after priority registration starts at my school, so I'm hoping I can get the one clinical site I have my eye on!
  5. I got my acceptance to my top choice school for January as well :) As OP, I am definitely going to get an Erin Condren planner. They're so great for time management and organization so I definitely just see it as a necessary part of my budget As far as preparing, while my books haven't posted yet (and I have new student open house this coming Monday), I've still taken it upon myself to start studying basic dosage calculations and conversions, etc. Rather be as ahead as I can while I have the chance, lol. And white, my scrubs are all white. Top and bottom. Needless to say I'm buying a bulk amount of tide to go sticks and oxiclean
  6. Did you end up hearing back from Pierce yet?
  7. Thank you! I had to weigh everything between pass rates and the commute and time I would be able to work when I made my decision. Even those first 8 weeks of having to be out of work like that would cost me my apartment or car ):
  8. It was a consideration of mine, which is why I had applied to COC originally - but I also know Moorpark works with CSU-CI, not in the same way that COC does with CSUN, but in that most transfers go there. CSU-CI has two bridge programs available: RN - BSN, for those who take the NCLEX before transferring into it, and a 14 month ADN - BSN program for those who apply their last semester of their ADN program without being a licensed RN (http://nursing.csuci.edu/programs/moorpark-college-road-map.pdf), which is what I would like to do, essentially getting my BSN in 3 years and 2 months. I've talked to the nursing counselor before at CSUCI too as well as heard from the Moorpark counselor, and they said the ADN-BSN program is not impacted like many other programs, such as the generic BSN program, which is why I had applied to Moorpark as well. Also given that I have to work part-time too while in a nursing program so I can still afford my apartment, car, other bills etc., Moorpark works better for me in that it's 10 minutes from my apartment/work and is 3 days a week, and not 5 days a week like COC is, on top of the hour commute ]:
  9. At least you're all set then knowing all that for this semester :]! I just wish it was next Monday already. I'm so excited/anxious to meet everyone, get all the info and be able to get started on everything that we need!
  10. Is it almost like a polo, Moorpark's top? That's so odd. But I agree that I wish the pants color were different! All white reminds me of like chefs, lol. Do you know if we get to choose our own kind of scrub pants though? Like the brand or is that specified too by the school? And that sounds gross - not saying I'm not guilty of this myself sometimes but they're at least my own clothes that I own. Not something that a bunch of people have to try on, haha.
  11. I knew the top was like that, because I think every nursing program I've ever had friends in/seen, it's always that white top :] I'm just not excited about white pants, lol. I think I'm going to have to invest in a lot of Tide To Go sticks >___>
  12. Really random question and not really of too much importance in comparison of everything else, but since you were an alternate last semester you could answer this - is it true that the scrubs we have to get are all white? I figured the top was, but the bottoms too? Haha, it has just been a majority curiosity of mine!
  13. I wish I didn't have any classes left, but I was such a procrastinator and did all the courses I wanted that I thought were fun, and left out the poly-sci, history, stats (i took calc instead, big mistake), and now I'm just playing catch up with those D: I'm so glad my fiancé finished his program a few months ago, because he was a nightmare to be around when it was exam time - so I couldn't imagine how both of us would be lol.
  14. I barely have any free time now between work and my current classes! So I'm just totally ready to embrace reallyyy having no life in a few months 😅😩 nonetheless, I'm excited to start though!
