  1. Do not give up!! I am in a similar situation. I started the program this past semester and the first semester is the most time consuming it seems like. I went Monday-Thursday two days was 9-4 the other two were 9-12. But I am starting my second semester now and we go 3 days a week. One day is clinical which is all day and the other two are from 8-11. So working full time this semester would be possible. I have a class mate who worked full time and he did okay. I worked part time and I have a 2 year old at home so my scheduled was booked solid the whole semester.
  2. I looked at OMI briefly, but decided not to go. I had contacted their admissions person, and I sent my transcripts, application and everything over to them and never heard anything back. I even tried contacting them after a couple weeks, and nothing. Once I did a little more research I found out that they are not accredited in any way, and they have only graduated one nursing class so far. They don't even accept financial aid! Maybe things are different now, but be careful!
  3. No I am in the traditional program now, I started in January.
  4. I am currently an EMT working as a nursing assistant on a direct admit unit, while in nursing school! If you can get a job as a nursing assistant without obtaining your CNA, then I would suggest just doing that. At my hospital (Orlando, Florida) you only need either your CNA, EMT, PMD, or be a 2nd year BSN student to get a NA job.
  5. I don't think it will be available until the 11th. Maybe check around midnight? (If you are still awake lol) or I would just do it in the morning!
  6. I got my khakis off amazon. They are dickies brand. I'm tall so it's hard for me to find pants that fit me. But I did see that super Walmart had some similar khakis for a good price. And I'm pretty sure everything gets updated on the 11th
  7. Well what else are people supposed to share but their own experiences? Lol I mean isn't that what this is for? For people to give their input based on what they have experienced? Of course no two people are going to have the same experience, but how is one persons feelings considered garbage?
  8. Mine were inexpensive. I got them from Payless. Regular all white champion sneakers.
  9. I have started reading some in the fundamentals book, but not much.
  10. I actually currently work as a nursing assistant at a local hospital and almost every nurse on my unit still has their ADN or is currently working on their BSN. I basically guaranteed a job on my unit once I graduate, which is great! But I want to start a FNP program pretty quickly since I have an 18 month old, and be done with school once and for all lol but thank you both for your input! I will look into Fronteir!
  11. Hello all! So I am starting my ADN program in about a week, which I will finish in summer 2017. My end goal is to be an FNP, so I was wondering if anybody knew of any ADN to FNP programs in Florida? Or should I get my BSN first, then find a BSN-FNP program? Thanks in advance!
  12. If you go on the nursing students link on atlas, it gives you an up to date instructor list. But they have already changed it a handful of times so who knows what it will end up being first day of class!
  13. We start so soon!! And I just saw there was ANOTHER change in the instructors lol but I'm not worried about it, because I feel like you get out of it what you put in. I found the group and added it!
  14. My Facebook email address is [email protected] and my fb name is Holly Nicole. Feel free to add me and email me! Can't wait to see everyone in a couple weeks!
  15. I know, it's crazy how much money is put into this to start. And I haven't even gone and bought my scrubs yet lol but honestly I haven't had the money, with Christmas and everything. I am going tomorrow though, and I am only getting one set to begin with. But you are right, it will be worth it in the end!
