Who's going to Anesthesia school?

Nursing Students SRNA

We've had several threads from everyone saying they were accepted to various schools, but if everyone is willing let's do one big thread for everyone that will be starting anesthesia school this summer or fall. If you don't mind please include where you applied, the status from each school ( meaning didn't get an interview, interviewed and not accepted/made alternate/accepted), and the school you chose and why. Thanks, so much!

I applied to :

1) Medical College of Georgia- interviewed and made alternate

2) Samford (in Birmingham)- interviewed and accepted

3) University of Alabama at Birmingham- interviewed and accepted and will be going there this fall. I chose UAB because I loved the Director and all of their clinicals are in Birmingham, so I won't have to travel all over the state.

I waited for my letter in order to get back to you...

I interviewed at University of Southern California and was accepted yesterday. That was my only school. Congratulations everyone!

I applied to all 3 programs in CT. Small state, good odds:)

New Britain General Hospital- interviewed, not accepted

Hospital of St Raphael- interviewed, accepted, declined

Bridgeport Hospital- interviewed, accepted, start at the end of May!

Good luck to everyone!!

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone sharing their acceptance at various schools. It sure helps to keep me motivated in human anatomy.

Thanks Again

Only applied to Villanova University

I chose the facility because of host and clinical site locations as well as quality of education

Start program in Fall 2006

I start at Villanova this fall! I also was accepted at Lasalle/Montgomery Hosp. and was offered an interview at Nazareth Hosp., which I declined. Now I just need to make an appointment with the financial aid office to figure out how I'm going to pay for it all!

I applied to the Raleigh School through UNCG (interviewed and accepted). This is the only school I applied to. I knew I wanted to attend this school because of the location and because I attended UNCG as an undergraduate. I really like the program. Thanks.

Baylor - applied, interviewed, accepted and start 6/27

I applied to several schools but TWU was my first choice ( southern boy). Still had several applications going out when I was accepted, however, I took advantage of the first offer, which ended up being my first choice. These are the ones I can remember:

New Britain--interviewed--alternate--withdrew

Rhode Island--interviewed--not accepted

TWU--interviewed--accepted--will attend this August

CAMC--applied--not accepted

KUMC--applied--offered interview--declined interview

Midwestern--applied--offered interview--declined interview

Case Western--applied--offered interview--declined interview

St. Mary's--applied-not accepted

Youngstown State--applied-- withdrew application

I just can't believe the amount of time and money you put out for all this. The puny two applications that I put in was a major ordeal (with my 6 transcripts and all). My heart goes out to you!!!

BTW, my wife told me that we were back into the "renting" category for school...it was a brief fantasy.

Applied at University of Akron, Ohio...interviewed, accepted and starts this June. Did not apply anywhwere else. Cost of living and the 100% passing rate on the CRNA boards were the key factors. Also, they have a post-graduate certificate...thus, I did not need to repeat my MSN. Saves $ and time.

Is anyone accepted at University of Southern California? So far I only know one other person who is going.... I'm planning on putting together an apartment with first-year students.

Interviewed in 2003 at MSA in MN and was alternate. Reinterviewed in 2004 and will start this August 2005. I haven't seen anyone else post from MSA. Anyone else out there starting this fall? Good luck everyone!

U of buffalo--Interviewed, selected, attending

MHRI--Interviewed, selected, declined

Bryan LGH--Turned down interview

Georgia--Turned down interview

Fransiscan skemp--Interviewed, declined
