I am taking pre-reqs and getting ready to apply. I would love to hear from others who are applying.

Took the GRE this morning. Thank goodness that is OVER. The testing procedure these days is intense. Emptying my pockets and being wanded with a metal detector was fun every time I left and reentered the room.
My hopeful goal was to score a 310 and scored 313 :) Hopefully that will balance out my lower GPA (2.97 from undergrad). Now I just need to finish up my personal statement and I think my application will be ready to submit as soon as my scores are officially reported to AU.
How's everyone else doing? igh23... you submitted yours yet? I am impressed that you got input from someone at the career center. Did you think it was worth it?

Congratulations, Kate8888!!!! :up:That's a fantastic score! Way to surpass your goal! Yeah, I agree with you about the metal detector and checking of pockets. That was almost more nerve-racking than the exam. Almost! Luckily, I wore yoga pants and a tee shirt. They still made me pull up my pant leg and roll down my socks though. And they made me turn the pockets of my cardigan inside out. That did not leave the room with me until I was finished with the test!!! Yikes!
I'm almost to the finish line! She reviewed my resume and I found her to be very helpful as she caught some small formatting mistakes and a grammatical error that I and other people who looked over my resume missed. Additionally, she made a suggestion for rearranging one of my sections that really made it a lot better. Also, I feel like it gave me a lot more confidence in the quality of my resume. I didn't feel that my personal statement was ready for review at the time so I have an appointment with her this Tuesday. I definitely feel like her services were worth it! She's the director of the alumni career center and also does the counseling services. Super sweet and sharp! Are you thinking about getting her to look over your personal statement and resume?
Congratulations, Kate8888!!!!
Thanks, igh23!

Yes, how did you get in touch with her? Through the career center?
Actually - I just went to the UGA Career Center and sent them a message for an appointment. Thank you so much for the idea!
Yay! That's so awesome! I think you'll really like her. I was going to tell you that I used Handshake to make an appointment, but it sounds like you've got it all taken care of.
Oh, and no problem! I'm glad that helped you out! I'm so glad that they offer services like that to alumni.

FYI for those who may not meet all of the requirements. This in an email from the Program Manager:
"Right now we are only reviewing candidates who meet our minimum requirements. At the end of our process if we have remaining seats, we may choose to review applicants who are slightly below either the test score or GPA requirement. Whether or not we are able to do this will depend on the competitiveness of our applicant pool overall."

Well that is interesting/depressing. I an wondering how my GPA will look in NursingCas once it get calculated. I have a 2.996 right now after getting an A in one of my pre-reqs this summer. I wonder if it will be rounded up or not. It will definitely be above 3.0 after this semester with another A in pre-reqs. We shall see. Thanks for the tidbit pearls08!
Have you had your appointment yet? If so, how'd it go?
She mostly liked my personal statement, but suggested that I make some revisions. I am so glad to have this extra help.

Hi all,
I am in the process of applying for fall 2017 for the MSN CNL program! I have a 3.6 GPA (undergrad) & a 289 GRE score. I am a bit nervous about my GRE score, has anyone heard of previous students being accepted with just below a 290 GRE? Good luck everyone!! :-)
I'm wondering if you're borderline 2.99 GPA or 289 GRE if an interview will still be offered to these candidates sooner rather than later. Thoughts? There are always exceptions to the basic requirements:).

Hey you guys!!! Sorry I have been MIA; I stopped receiving notifications for some reason. There is another forum where people are actually submitting applications and putting Stats and everything. Here is the link. I just submitted my application last night and my supplemental application Saturday.
So, 11/5 Supplemental Completed
11/6 NursingCAS Submitted and Completed
11/7 Material Received and Verifying in progress
My Stats are GPA 3.15 all prerequisites complete. GPA will be a 3.23 after this semester. Also, GRE score was a 294 and MAT when I took it was 392.

Congratulations!!! I have everything uploaded and will check over everything one more time, then submit!
When you entered your statement into the text box, were you able to figure out formatting or did it automatically smoosh your paragraphs all together? I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or if there is really no control over formatting.
