Who all is waiting to apply/hear back for Fall 2012?

Published

Hi. Just wondering who all is applying and when? One program's deadline is April 16th and the other program's deadline is May 30th. I am so tired of waiting! I am impatient lol. I figured we could all anxiously wait together! I should know something from both by the end of July- which seems SOOOO far away!! At least I have a full summer semester schedule ahead of me and two busy little boys to keep me occupied. So, hopefully the wait won't be too bad!

Good luck, everyone!!

I was originally put on the alternate list for Oregon Health and Science University, but got a call yesterday saying they had a spot for me! So excited I was shaking when I hung up the phone. Congrats to all and if you're on the waiting list don't give up hope!

Awesome! Congrats :yeah:

I called my school Friday and now they are saying decisions should be made by mid-July!! Deadline was May 1st!! How can it take 2.5 months to make decisions! I'm so impatient, lol!

I applied in May to Daytona State. The deadline was May 31st. I was told the process takes 4-6 weeks, however someone else said they called the school and was told we should know by the 4th of July.

I still check the mail every day, hoping and praying there's a big white envelope in there, and not a small letter size one! I know just what you mean about the waiting. Oh, The ANXIETY! The whole time you're thinking about it and even having dreams about it! LOL!

I REALLY want to call the school this week and ask to speak to the director--who told me mid-June-- if letters will be sent out this week since the 15th is technically half of the month and is this Friday. The admissions lady stands firm to the end of June deadline. The director said they say that for "just in case". But I don't know if it'd be wrong of me to call and ask about it.. At least without a legitimate excuse besides impatience.

I would wait it is one of those things we must do. We all feel for you though!!!

Eh, as much as I want to do it, I won't. I way too much going on with school-- tons of stuff due this week, my son has speech therapy Wednesday, and I need to bring some order to my chaos in the house. I really need to declutter toys and such that my kids do not play with. So, I have plenty of things to keep my busy. I barely have time to talk on the phone with my grandmother, much less wait on the phone for the school lol. It's just very very tempting! I really can't take it!

I totally understand! My neck is killing me from all the papers I write every day. But the days are going by so fast and this fall we will miss all this time we have...even though we dont really dont have much time right now.

I empathize with you all because I, too, was once in your shoes. Feel lucky that you have made it this far and DO NOT GIVE UP. If this is your dream, you will find a way. The JC's I applied to typically had anywhere from 1,000 - 1,200 applicants for only 40 spots (I'm in the Sacramento area) so I knew my chances were horrible. I waited four, yes, FOUR YEARS to get in. It was all lottery back then and those that were accepted were notified fairly quickly after applying, via email. I think it is cruel to let the ones that are denied to wait the longest only to receive a rejection letter in the mail. I am now heading into my fourth semester of nursing school and am currently working as a nurse's aide at a hospital. I came to allnurses just as you all have done for support. It's nice to have that camaraderie. Just remember to never give up! It will happen eventually :)
