Who is resigning from a f/t job before the fall progrm starts?

I would consider being laid off from my current job "winning by default"! It wouldn't be too bad if something like that happened once school started in the Fall because I still plan on working for my first year.

I don't know what I'll do when I finally quit. I hope it happens about this time next year. I would love to just walk out the door but I know I'll probably wuss out and give them two weeks anyway. It's a tough call. On one hand this job is a piece of cake and the money isn't bad and they are going to let me leave about 45 minutes early one day a week so I can get to class. But then on the other hand I think of all of the bad things they have done to me like treated me like an idiot just because I'm a woman, called me a trouble maker for reporting Mediao e-mails they were sending to each other and clients, only letting me take a half day to attend my Step Mothers, father's funeral and then berating my husband when he called in to tell them that I absolutely couldn't come in at all that day.

I think when the day comes it will really just depend on my mood at that given moment.

Of course they think that when I do give notice I'll tell them the very second that I know I'm leaving and that will give them "months" of time to find a replacement. Hah! It never ceases to amaze me how people can treat others with so much dis-regard and then expect them to to bend over backwards to help them out.

I'm so sorry Bucky, that sucks!!!! But Bevi's right, you still get to leave! My official countdown has begun! My last day is next Friday and I can't wait!!!! :D:D:D

yeahhhhh, Colleen, just have a grand ol' time with this. My hubby was laughing his butt off, too. I Was so stunned. hehehehehe

School is ok, but I am ready for micro to be OVER!

Nursing class starts August 20.

Did you give your notice yet?

Is it possible that you could get lucky and get laid off next?

Or, does this mean you'll be stuck doing extra work before you quit and head off to school?

My last official full-time day is Aug. 8. That night I'm jumping on a plane to Ft. Lauderdale for 9 days. Come back the 17th and start the program the 21st. Everyone keeps telling us to take a vacation before the semester starts, so I am!

My company is offering me a part-time position and I get to make up my own hours too (pretty cool of them I might say). They even offered to keep me insured if I worked 20-30 hrs a week but, I'm too nervous about nursing school to commit to that as I really can't mess this up! So, I'm opting for the school insurance and to work 12-15 hrs per week. I definitely I am looking forward to abandoning that desk and the cinderblock wall I stare at all day!

I start nursing classes on Aug. 18th.

Colleen, it would be nice if they fired me but I am a good employee. THEY JUST FIRED MY BOSS' ASSISTANT this morning!!! Those two gave me so much grief. I got hit with a double whammy! I wanted her to be here when I quit....geez, what luck, huh?

Yahoo, this past monday was my last day at my dull corp job of 13yrs. It seemed like it would never get here. I will have off a little more than 6 weeks before school starts. You know what the really sad part is? This is the first time, other than vacations and childbirth, that I have had to be a fulltime mom. I've always worked and my mom watched my girls for me. I thank

God that she was able to do it for me. I don't know how I am going to handle them 24/7. This ought to be interesting. I am already loving it. Talk to me in another week and we'll see. lol

Hey Berta, congratulations!!

I have been off for 4 weeks now and boy the kids have been driving me crazy. I love being with them, but they fight so much and it seems like there is never time to relax. It appears they get bored easily and want me to play with them. Sometimes I do, sometimes not.
