Really who needs a bigger pat on the back for doing their job? Who posts more about how much they matter and makes a bigger difference? Nurses or teachers?

Nurses do, from what I've seen ...but I know very few teachers. I have always found dolphins to be very smug, as well. You should have included them in your poll.

never seen either of them post about how hard they work. Must be that they have a Cush job unlike us nurses that work 9 12's per week.

I just want my paycheck...nothing else! You, however seem very angry.Let people be who they are and if they need a pat on the back and some recognition I do not see anything wrong with that!

Really who needs a bigger pat on the back for doing their god damn job? Who posts more about how much they matter and makes a bigger difference? Nurses or teachers?
Medical interns. They are just dying for a nurse to call them Dr. And for someone to screw up so they can step in and sore how awesome they are.
Apparently professional trolls need attention as well.

Oh and don't get me started on shoe designers! It's all about crocs versus flip flops.

I agree. OP, you do seem unduly upset by "martyr nurses". You've started multiple threads on the topic. Why do they bother you so much?
I'm no fan of the phenomenon either but I solve that by not reading blogs/Facebook etc. where they complain about their struggles and perceived sacrifices.
I think that during the majority of shifts not taking bathroom and meal breaks is a choice, and a poor one. That said, nursing can still be tough. In many specialties nurses witness a lot of human suffering and often meet people at their worst time, so yes the job can take its toll on a nurse's health/well-being. That's why I think that it's extra important to focus on good, happy and constructive things during your time off, instead of dwelling on negatives and stressors.

Lots of teachers in my family (and a very few nurses). It's apples & oranges, but they're both very important.
