ME!!!!!!but i've got a ways to go...
hmph.
Man, oh, man...do I ever remember those feelings! You'll be in nursing school before you know it...and out of it even faster. It's a great profession. Don't discount those prereqs. They're the foundation (literally) of everything you'll learn in nursing school. If you understand them...nursing school will be a breeze.
Best wishes to you all!
I am so so anxious!! I apply to Nursing School in January but I won't start until next year -- my sophomore year.
I'm more anxious about getting accepted into the Nursing School first and foremost! I've been keeping my grades up and I've been gettinf volunteer hours so I'm in good shape so far. Yay!
I'm so frustrated because I only have two prereqs left--A&P II and Microbiology. But stupid me slept late on the first day of class registration and all 6 micro classes filled up in the first 8 hours. Now I will have a lower score for admission consideration since I'll be lacking a prereq. And if I do get in, that means I'll be taking micro along with nursing classes--not sure how hard that would be.
i have a&p1-2, micro, nutrition, and sociology. not to mention chemistry, because i didn't finish hs-so i plan on working those classes out this spring and summer:bugeyes: yah, right-if you want to make god laugh just tell him your plans, right lol.
i am going to try. the school that i am applying to says that potentials can come into the school with just 2 pre reqs-but i don't want that big a load while in school-plus either way i have to get the chemistry.
i'm so anxious and ready to get on with it, because it seems that at any minute my chance and hope will disappear again....so yah, i'm right with the rest of you ^_^

this can be tricky though because while my school says the same thing, they admit people based on points which are acquired by a combination of prereq's completed (and their grades), and the teas test score.
so while technically, i could be admitted with 2 pre-reqs, it is doubtful they'd ever admit someone with so few points. so it is definitely a good idea to knock out your prereqs first.
Well I have about half of mine done. I have several left but I'm trying to get them done this semester so that I can apply for Spring of 2010... LOL And so all I will have after this semester should be A&P 2 and Micro... It will be a hard semester as I am cramming in Hist, English (a retake to get an A), Chem 101, and A&P... Think it's too much? Because if I don't do it this way then I'll have to stretch it out until Spring of 2011... And even then you know you're competing w/ 200+ people. I figure this way even though it's a 'chance' to get in, if I do get in then the hard hard work of this semester/Fall semester will be worth it. Any thoughts?? Thanks for your 2 . :nuke:

ME!!!! I can hardly wait!
I am taking Pharmacology as a prerequisite for an accelerated program, however I am in class with nursing students that have already started the ADN program....Its almost a tease...I am so close to getting in.
What I have learned in Pharmacology and Pathophysiology is that they build upon the Micro, Anatomy, Path, and Chem classes so i hope you never forget them. They could save a person's life! It can be an emotional rollar coaster sometimes, but the rewards will definetly out weigh the sacrifice! Good Luck!

I feel the same way. I'm taking Chem 101, right now. I still need to take A&P 1 (spring 09) and 2 (summer1 09), Patho (summerII 09), micro (fall 09), and bioethic(fall 09). I'm hoping to be finish by Fall 09 and starting in Spring 10. I have a B.S already so all i need to focus on is my sicence courses. but, those are taking the longest. I wish i could take two classes at a time. To hurry. I'm trying to avoid a Deployment to Iraq. but i'm due to leave in Dec 09. I don't think i'll make it. I might have to put my dreams on hold until Fall 10. I hate that but, maybe i can do some work at the near by hosptial, in Iraq.
