Who has completed "College Network" LPN to RN?

Nursing Students Excelsior

Published

:uhoh3: I signed up with the College Network one week ago for the Excelsior LPN-RN program.

I was wondering if anyone has completed this program.

I am now worried because I just read many complaints against them online. I already knew that they are not affiliated with Excelsior college n that the school has own fees when I finally apply to them.

Hi Annie, I am having a difficult time continuing the program due to inavailabilty of $$$$. Does college network actually help with loan in paying the fees? If they do, I don't mind going through them. Am trying to finish this program by December , please help, thanks.

hey everyone

I just signed the dotted line aswell and although I heard numerous bad comments about it I am super excited. I just graduated in April take my boards next week and I have already schedule my first test for my first nursing course towards my RN. It works for me. I only pay $140 a month no loans, no interest.... just straight out my pocket which is ok because I make great money now as an nurse so I can deal with it. Everybody is different but I think that if it works for you then dont let other ppl opinions discourage you from you goals. Any updates on anybody success? PLease i am wondering how the 2day clincals are? Do u feel prepared?

Keep me posted!

I just got my acceptance letter this week. I've sent official transcripts off all the prerequisites required. I took everything to transition at a local college. Due to time restraints and a new position in a skilled nursing facility, this was the way to go for me. Its refreshing to see other nurses choosing this same path.

I just also signed up with the College network but should have just gone on the Excelsior website..I am super confused!! any one have any thoughts???I only have 7 days to cancel!

Check its usually a 3 day cancel notification. But yes most do better going directly to Excelsior. Excelsior is neither affiliated nor do they recommend TCN. In addition you have no recourse if a TCNodule differs from the EC content guide and subsequently fail an exam.

If you go to the Excelsior forum here on AN there is a great FAQ thread.

hi Smartylpn....College Network is a publishing company-they have nothing to do with Excelsior. I made the mistake of signing up with another publishing company and realized too late I wasted my money. All resources you need can be found on Excelsior website and forums. Only pay for testing. My advise is cancel ASAP before you are bound contractually with CN. Good luck!

It has been a couple of years since I opened this post and I wanted to update that I did complete the Excelsior LPN-RN program this past summer. I was able to successfully cancel the college network contract with a significant balance after already paying them a great amount. I complained and let them know how I was deceived into it. They did blemish my credit with some late payments. I threatened lawsuits and was my own advocate. It was a battle but eventually they cancelled the remaining balance. The advice given here was great. Thanks to everyone.

Congrats, am happy for you!!

Hello there, I have been in the college network and paying my monthly payment of $300, and just been procrastinating on the modules... still have halfway payments but been feeling discouraged from this school. So basically its like learning and reading on own and passing exams right? and then how does Excelsior work? and is it less costly? thank you for your help! =]

Excelsior is the school that grants the degree. College Network entices you into signing a contract for several thousand dollars to pay for their study guides (which you can purchase used for pennies on the dollar on eBay). College Network has never granted a degree in nursing and never will. You need to contact Excelsior College to inquire about their nursing program.

Is there another route besides the college network option. It seems the real drawback to the College Network is the price. But overall I think it would be a great option for many people, to be able to test out of all the prerequisites without having to attend class. How else can this be done??? any info or leads would be much appreciated.
