Who has completed "College Network" LPN to RN?

Published

:uhoh3: I signed up with the College Network one week ago for the Excelsior LPN-RN program.

I was wondering if anyone has completed this program.

I am now worried because I just read many complaints against them online. I already knew that they are not affiliated with Excelsior college n that the school has own fees when I finally apply to them.

I am using TCN modules and I like them very much. I have taken 4 tests and passed them on the first try. They condense all the material in ECs books into one module, making it more organized and easier to pack wherever you go. I only have 3 tests to go. Also, dont enroll into excesior college until after you have taken all prereqs and 2 or 3 nursing exams. They charge you $900 to enroll then $440 for every year that you are enrolled. Trying to help you save some money.

I agree. I like it too. I love all of the online resources they have available. I love the ePatient. I am getting ready to take my 1st test health and safety and I ordered my transitions binder and it came already. I am starting that one next. I also bought the studygroup 101 cds from ebay and it is all the same material as tcn and ec. It has some same questions as the ec and tcn practice tests.

It has been a while since your last post about the TCN, did it work out for you? How do you feel about it? I just signed a contract and was excited until I started reading posts on here... Thank you, feel free to send me a private message.

Thank you

I liked TCN, it condensed the material into one binder instead of having several different books. Also, if you still have books from LPN school you can use them as references. I did that with maternity section.

Thank you for your response. I am starting with the pre-reqs and my fist module is English Comp. I am hoping to be ready for the test in a month or so. Good luck :)

Thank you for your reply. I am starting with the pre-reqs first. Hopefully I stay motivated. I am planning to transfer to Indiana State University for the LVN-BSN program.

Thank you again

I am looking into RN--BSN programs. Not sure who to go with.

I too have signed up with TCN and after reading pages and pages of complaints that i stumbled upon by accident, I instantaneously wanted to vomit. I have just completed sociology and am scheduled to test out this sat. Please let me know how you all are doing in this path. I am going to stick with this since I have signed the contract ( oh well). I need some motivation after reading so many complaints :uhoh3:

But how do you test out of all the pre-req courses? What colleges allow you to do this?

Is there another route besides the college network option. It seems the real drawback to the College Network is the price. But overall I think it would be a great option for many people, to be able to test out of all the prerequisites without having to attend class. How else can this be done??? any info or leads would be much appreciated.

You do not need the college network!

You can test out of ALL of your pre req's through EXCELSIOR COLLEGE. TCN and other publishing companies just add on cost, Excelsior gives you everything you need. They list books, chapters, etc.

I am currently enrolled with TCN so far i have taken 3 exams i like it for the fact that they condense the material making it easier to study and plus i financed all my exam fees through them so i dont pay extra for the exams as i am on a tight budget.

Do you have any advice for Nurs 328 Pediatrics? @annieranks
