White Memorial New Grad 2011

Published

Just wondering if anyone has applied to the White Memorial New Grad Program for next March and if anyone knows when they will be doing interviews.....I don't see any status updates on their application page so just wondering..!

I definitely think you should call back-that's happened with me when I interviewed for Torrance Memorial.

i missed a phone call from white memorial today. no message was left. do the HR call back? or they just move on? sorry new to this whole interview process. im so mad i missed their call and have no direct number to call back to.

Eun59,

Call back for sure and ask for ****. She made the phone calls out.

I hat to hear that they don't leave messages, just scares me. We can't leave our phones for a second it seems or our spot will be taken. Call WMMC as soon as you can. Let us know if you make it in for an interview.

Good luck everyone!

Hi Everyone!

For those who received phone calls: in your cover letter, did you state what unit you wanted to be in? In my cover letter, I stated I wanted to be in the ICU and I wonder if that made my application somewhat undesirable. I'm graduating with a B.S.N. and my gpa is 3.8 but i have no prior work experience at WMMC.

thanks! and congrats to those who got a phone call. to everyone else, hang in there!

I didn't state which unit I was interested in for my application (was there a cover letter?).

My good friend is in the March 2011 cohort now. She told me that they won't ask you what unit you want to work for until the second interview. Also, the interview is 3 clinical experiences and 1 critical thinking.

By clinical experiences, do you mean scenarios that you describe what you would do or how you would prioritize? Not 3 of your own clinical experiences, right? I was told "scenarios" when I scheduled my interview. And critical thinking questions are NCLEX style questions??? It seems to me that answering clinical scenario questions is showing your critical thinking too.

I was not told to bring anything to this interview. But their interview info online states to bring resume, 2 LORs, transcripts, and a one page essay. So I guess I'll bring it this time just in case.

I know it's simple clinical experiences-like tell me a time when you had a conflict with such and such and what did u do. The critical thinking is the scenario and you have to say what interventions you would do.

Thanks for sharing Conure Girl

I had a call this morning as well with the same experience as you (only the 6 page questionaire) The lady from HR who called told me the same information. She said that they are hiring for virtually all departments and asked me to pick two. HOWEVER, when I double checked their New Grad Residency website: http://whitememorial.com/careers/versant/index.php

It list only a limited number of units, no Emergency residency or ICU but there CCU

Hope this is helpful for y'all

I forgot to respond to this earlier. Somewhere on their website it shows that the Critical Care Unit (CCU) encompasses ER, ICU, PICU, NICU, and the CV DOU units.
