White Memorial New Grad 2011

Just wondering if anyone has applied to the White Memorial New Grad Program for next March and if anyone knows when they will be doing interviews.....I don't see any status updates on their application page so just wondering..!

Just had my interview today-let's just say I thought I did really well until the critical thinking question. Wow. Completely blanked out-wouldn't be surprised if I didnt get a call back lol I did the best that I can today even with a fever and excessive nausea :(

How awful to be sick on the day of your interview. I also was interviewed today and did not do as well on the critical thinking question as I could have. Since they are just taking 15 people (of those who had no previous experience or ties with White), the competition is really tough. BTW, I do not know anything about which units they need new grads on. Good luck to everyone.

Hey RN 1218 please do not feel bad, feel honored for being selected to interview. The nurse recruiter told me that in one week they received 600 application and had to close the application after that. From the 600 applicant only 50 were chosen to interview and from the 50 chosen to interview only 15 will be hired. When it came to the critical thinking part I felt like I did not cover everything but I tried my best, if I do not get this position I will tell GOD thank you for this opportunity and know that it was not meant to be. I always find that when I try to force something it usually ends up its not for me, then they opportunity that is for me comes to me in due time. Please do not beat your self up.:)

Hi Karen,RN. I, too, only filled out the lengthy ~6 page questionnaire together with the rest of the application. I submitted my application on Apr 4 and just received a call today to have a panel interview next week. So I think that is the only questionnaire to fill out. I was also told that they received over 600 applications, but I didn't ask how many they will be hiring, or for which units. For those passing the panel interview, there will be a med math test and then an interview with the unit manager. Good luck.

I had applied on line since two months ago, then a month ago then about two weeks ago and every time i tried to apply, it would always give me an error saying that they were currently not taking any applications... I was wondering did i miss something or did I do something wrong...? I thought I was a good candidate for their program since I was cum laude, I am also bilingual and i participated in many activities with school as well as volunteer work.. I am a bit upset because I feel like I messed up...:crying2:... when did you guys applied and what steps did you guys take to get your questionnaires? I know I'm late and I cant participate in this program but I would like to know where did i messed up...

I just filled out the application online at around april 6th and they replied about a week later. i attached a cover letter and my resume and afterwards I had to fill out this questionnaire similar to what a lot of other hospitals are requiring. If you are having trouble with the online applications maybe you can try using a different browser? They opened their apps on april 1st and I applied on april 6th so they were open for at least a couple of days. It helps to call in advance to see when they are opening up their online apps just in case you miss it cuz i know they fill up pretty quickly. I hope this helps. :) In the meantime, you can apply to other places that are still open, like St. Vincent, and USC will be opening up in May.

I forgot to respond to this earlier. Somewhere on their website it shows that the Critical Care Unit (CCU) encompasses ER, ICU, PICU, NICU, and the CV DOU units.

Do you or anyone happen to know if WMMC requires New Grads to make a 3 year commitment? I know CHOC does..

WMMC requires 2.5 yrs after the residency, so the total commitment is about 3 years.

Congratulations:yeah: When did you have your interview with the NM? I was told at the HR/educator interview that I would be called this week if I get chosen for a 2nd interview with a NM. Has anyone else interviewed with the NM or received a job offer?

Hi, congratulations! I was just wondering how long did you wait after your interview until they called and told you to have the calculation test? And how long after did you have an interview with the nursing manager?

I interviewed yesterday, and the NM was awesome. My panel was last Thursday and they called me the very next day to set up the NM interview. PM what units your going for and I'll let you know if I got info on the them.
