I am all for Arizona. We are relocating to the Phoenix/Scottsdale area in a few months. I have lived all over from New England to Southern CA. Florida is nice, but from an economical standpoint, I think you'll be better off in AZ. Good luck and congrats on the new job!

I'm always amazed at how someone will look for a fight in every.single.thread, and then someone else who apparently needs some drama will jump in. Lame.
OP - I grew up in AZ and my entire family lives there. I love it for a variety of reasons - laid-back people, beautiful weather for about 4-5 months of the year (and you do get used to the heat, although it can be unbearable at times in the dead of the summer), great shopping, good location (San Diego is about 6 or so hours from Phx), the ROCKY MOUNTAINS (skiing/snowboarding paradise) etc. Destin Fla is beautiful too. If you absolutely love the beach - if you would relish it often, that may be the place for you. You already have the job offers, so you don't have to worry too much about the market at this point. If the job doesn't work out, it sounds as though you have some freedom to move around. The desert is a wondrous place that few people really explore. It has amazing plantlife, amazing animal life.
See, I'm not going to be objective enough because I grew up in AZ, have been away from it for 25 years, and am jonesing to go back! Whatever you choose, best wishes to you.

Thanks ProudRN2010...I mean some of these people were taking this s*** way way way too seriously. I know I like to read and post things for fun and vent if I need to vent to my fellow nurses...we nurses should play for the same team here..and should be able to have fun or vent or whatever...Lord knows WE all work VERY hard and want to have fun! I mean seriously all that drama over NOTHING is just crazy to me...again as nurses we deal with enough drama. That crap is WAY too serious for a Friday night :)
Jeez, jeez, peace my friend. I'm sorry I yanked your chain earlier, but honestly, it really is helpful if you tell everyone what you're looking for, what sort of recreational activities you enjoy, what you're looking for in housing and the local economy, etc.
And even when I was giving you a hard time, I still thought my follow up post was helpful....

Ok sungrl, I agree, your question was a simple one... no need to get all "deep" and bluegrass response to you was inappropriate... especially the first response.. and asking how could you pose such a question... the question was ok.. lets keep it light people! I have a cousin who lives in Arizona.. she keeps trying to get me to move there. She said there's lots of jobs for nurses. Everyone I know that lives there loves it.. Go visit..
Well.There.You.Go.
"there's lots of jobs for nurses. Everyone I know that lives there loves it.."
I stand corrected. No need for "deep" questions.
