Which schools eliminated the MN and only offer DNP?

Published

Hi, I'm a nurse practitioner student and my school offers both the MN and DNP. Does anyone know if there are any schools that have actually eliminated the MN and only offer the DNP?

Thanks!

Specializes in Psychiatry.

I highly doubt that any school would do that at this time, it would just lead to a loss in revenue and the switch to DNP was a reccomendation not a requirement, I highly doubt any school has gone in that direction.

I know Creighton in Omaha transitioned from MN to DNP only last year. Mine was the last MN cohort.

Thanks rnkaytee! It's interesting to know that schools are indeed making the switch. I'm interested to see if anyone else posts with more examples.

The University of Pittsburgh only offers the DNP as of a few years ago.

Specializes in Assistant Professor, Nephrology, Internal Medicine.

The school I teach at and currently in their DNP completion track no longer has MSN level APRN tracks.

Specializes in Psychiatry, Community, Nurse Manager, hospice.

Rutgers only has DNP.

University of Florida only has DNP. They eliminated the MSN several years ago.
